Price war Mel-Syd
Hi all
I haven't looked at the cheap tickets site before so I decided to have a look.
Naturally being from the Antipodes I entered Mel-Syd to see what airfares were available.
I was surprised to find return flights (eg Aug 26/Sep 26) for just US$70.
By my reckoning that's about A$110. Ansett and Qantas prices were displayed.
We really have a price war on our hands.

That's good ol' competition for ya' ! Anything to break the duopoly of Ansett and Qantas !!!
I've heard that the cheap fares are spreading to Brisbane now, and Adelaide in the near future ??
And, what of Virgin Blue - what impact will it have ??

Wombat .. yes the fare war Brisbane-Sydney is on big time .. fares of $US19 on ALL carriers.
When Virgin enters the market any day now, I predict Branson will run $10 fares for a while to get headlines.
Great news for any of this board heading "down under" for the Olympics!
