Efrem,

Thanks for the info. BTW, my scale is electronic and is extremely accurate. Yet,
5 coupons in an envelope comes out to only .75 ounces. I'll have a postal clerk weigh them just to make sure I have enough postage. Thanks again!

There are at least two sizes for these coupons depending on the size of the cereal box. The 18oz corn flakes (that I got for $1.59 at Giant in Maryland)have a very large coupon. This would affect weight/postage.

Do you have to send them in 5 at a time or can you send in 10 or 20 or whatever all together?

Anyone from the DC area might be interested to know that Giant currently has forms that offer one DC United soccer ticket with every purchase of 3 kellogs cereals through 8/12/00. I wonder when this started, maybe a can find and submit some of the $1.59 corn flakes receipts!

You can send in more than 5 at a time as long as you send an exact multiple of 5. I've sent in up to 20 (and have gotten credit). If there's a limit it's probably much higher than that.

And that's a good point about weight and coupon size. The ones the PO weighed were the larger size from Corn Flakes, since I got six cases for a local food bank. Five of the smaller ones may well be under an ounce. I suppose Kellogg's was playing it safe, since someone could read the rules on a box with a small coupon and assume they applied to all.

I went to the Sam's on 281 and Bitters and was unable to find any 18oz Corn Flakes.

$1.59 for Corn Flakes at Giant in the DC area? Wow, that is a great deal. Safeway has the 18 oz. box on sale for $2.00 for Safeway Club members and I thought that was good. Wonder if Giant will discount that price if you order a few cases of Corn Flakes. Also, do the AA miles get credited electronically or does Kelloggs send you certs.?

dhacker Jul 24, 2000 3:56 pm

That $1.59 price at Giant was a half price sale on the 18oz size from a few weeks ago. I would have posted it, but Tribeflyer beat me to it earlier in this thread. I "only" bought 10 boxes. So spent $15.90 for 1000 miles and now I have sent the receipt in for 3 DC United soccer tickets. Now that was a great deal!

MileKing,

The miles get posted electronically.

Shoppers Warehouse in the DC area also frequently has Corn Flakes on sale. Several weeks ago they had the 18 oz boxes on sale for, if I remember correctly, $1.79.

The 18 oz Corn Flakes are back on sale this week at Safeway for $2.00.

Please tell me more about Corn Flakes specials in the DC area. When I search Giant, Shoppers or Safeway, they seem to be out of 12 oz. Corn Flakes with AA certificates. Are they being phased out or scooped up, I wonder? I've never seen them cheaper than $2.63. Tell me where to go!

Safeway on Columbia Pike in Arlington has the Corn Flakes with the AA promo. They were on sale for $2.00/box for Safeway Club members last week. Not sure if sale is still on. This is the first time I have seen the Corn Flakes with the AA promo at that store, although I have seen other varieties.

Does anybody know if Kelloggs plans to continue this promo past January 1, 2001? Whenever they have these kind of promos, if their "stop" date is a certain date, they always seem to run out of "specially marked packages" several months before the promo end date. That should be a prompt to stock up.

spartacus Jul 30, 2000 9:54 pm

The promotion is set to run through November of 2001, according to Kellogg's. One thing I have noticed, at least in Charlotte, is the somewhat spotty availability of the mile boxes. There are about half a dozen different corn flake boxes, including NASCAR and Universal Studios.

My fave is the strawberry mini wheats but there are times when only "plain" boxes are available. I contacted Kellogg inquiring as to why the lack of boxes. They have not yet replied.

MileKing Jul 31, 2000 6:17 am

Was at Safeway this weekend and the Corn Flakes sale is gone. Also, there were no Corn Flake or Crispix boxes with the promotion, only regular boxes or those with the NASCAR promo. Only Cracklin Oat Bran seems to be available on a regular basis with the promotion. I wish Kelloggs would get its act together and get the promo boxes in the stores!

Did anyone see any Kellogg's coupons/rebates on the Web? I spent half an hour looking and came empty-handed. I don't even see coupons in Sunday paper any more. As someone mentioned earlier, it is only cost-effective with a coupon.
Unfortunately, online buying will not work here: you have to see the box!

DC_flyer Aug 5, 2000 3:47 pm

dhacker,

How can we get DC United tickets from Corn Flakes? I haven't noticed anything on the boxes.

dhacker Aug 7, 2000 9:03 am

You have to buy them at Giant in the DC area. They have the forms at the front of the stores. You'll have to hurry because the deadline is 8/12. My tickets arrived already.
