Citibank must have gotten to them:

I am sure that Citibank is enforcing some exclusivity provision of its agreement with American AAdvantage, which undoubtedly provides that it will be the only bank authorized to provide AA miles as an incentive to its customers. Allowing Compubank to do so, indirectly through ClickRewards, undercuts the contractual rights which Citibank bargained, and undoubtedly paid money, for.

This is really bad news -- I earn a lot of AAdvantage miles through CompuBank. Does anyone know if it will be possible to get AAdvantage miles by transferring ClickMiles to Starwood, and THEN converting them to AA miles?

It's getting as hard to launder miles as it is illegal earnings ... not that I would know :P

As discussed elsewhere, Starwood is no longer allowing points that were transferred in to be transferred out regardless of source/destination. However, ClickMiles to US Airways then combine for an AA award should still work...

SilverPie- can you point me to that "elsewhere" please? This is something I had not heard of. As far as I was told, all those Click Rewards that we transferred into Starwood during the double redemption promotion were able to be transferred to airlines. Thanks!

silverpie: think you're wrong. I spoke to a friendly Starwood rep on the phone today. What he explained to me was this: You CAN convert Starwood points into airline miles regardless of how you earned them. They will not check on "how or where" you earned those points when you try to redeem them. However, he said that while doing "heavy" transfers such as 20,000 points Starwood prefers, and might even insist that you have atleast one folio charge on your account. Folio charge means a paid stay or a dinner at one of their restaurants or anything in which you give $$ to one of their properties, which sounds fair enough to me. If you know otherwise, please let us know.

Citibank is not the only bank that has promotions with AAdvantage miles. BankDirect has a group of accounts (checking, money market, and CDs) which offer AAdvantage miles. The interest rate is lower than for non-milege accounts however.
