Dealpool.com out-of-business
I tried to bid on the Marriott 15% discount certificates this afternoon, but they had been withdrawn.
I called Dealpool.com customer service and was told that unfortunately, the site will be down indefinitely, as they did not receive their next around of VC financing. They indicated that those who had bid on recent auction would receive credits back.

I emailed them the following question and never got a reply.
The Banner says "Save World Wide" but the terms and conditions says they are good ONLY in the US. Which is correct?
Still waiting for an answer after 2 weeks.

well, this is a bummer if dealpool sinks permanently. my deal closed on 5/17 for marriott certificates and i was sent email that they would be sent 5/30, then email to be send 5/31. my credit card was charged for the full amount, then credited for the full amount. i just talked to a customer service agent, chris camp, yesterday. he said they were having problems that some credit cards were being charged twice so they had to re-do a bunch. he said my certificates would be mailed that same day, but my credit card has still not been charged. so... at least, worst case, i am not out any money even though i don't have any certificates either.
if anyone is interested, chris camp's number is 877 569 2283.

That's too bad. I got $50 Borders certificate at $25 from them. You can get Marriott, American Airline (?), and over 300 different Gift Certificates at Giftcertificates.com at 20% off. When you check out use the code SPECIAL3 and you'll get $25 off $100 or more. This is great! I always take advantage of this. Also there are other deals like get $10 off of $50 or more, etc.. The listing can be found in this site that my friend told me about last week. It's pretty cool.

Good news, in that I got Marriott certs by Fedex today and had to sign for them too!
----------------
UPDATE:
In response questions to below:
Marriott certs are seemingly good everywhere Worldwide, just as Freeride certs, etc are!
The deal closed on 5/17/00!

good news, doc. i am very happy for you. unfortunately, my credit card still has not been posted for a temp charge or charge, so.... the certs that you got from dealpool- when did your deal close? was it before may 17th? maybe i still have a chance of getting mine. otherwise i will check out the other site referred to by OKman.
i don;t want to be a pessimist, but as soon as i buy the certs from the second site, the dealpool ones will come through.

I got this message only after emailing them because I had not received my order...it was real nice of them to tell me after waiting for two weeks!!!
I may have screwed up a vacation because of their poor communication with us customers!
Dear Dealpool Customers: Thank you so much for ordering from dealpool.com. We appreciate your business, and your patience during our "Sneak Preview" test period. Unfortunately, we must inform you that we will be unable to fulfill the order you placed with us. dealpool was unable to negotiate financing on terms that were acceptable, and consequently we must suspend operations at this time. If you are in a deal that closed succesfully you can be assured that any credit card charges that may have occured have already been reversed. We appreciate your support and expect to be back getting great deals for you soon shortly! We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. Sincerely, The Lifeguard Team dealpool.com

OKman- when i went to giftcertificate.com and tried the SPECIAL3 promo code, it did not deduct anything from the total value of the certificates. i called the 1-800 customer service number and was told that is a one-time only use per person and a max of one $25 digital certificate per $100 or greater purchase. and i did not see a 20% off the price of certificates.
am i missing something? i was looking for lots of marriott certificates for a 30 day stay. any other suggestions?

So far only code I used SUCCESSFULLY is CITISC. I wonder with SPECIAL3 code, you receive $25 SuperGiftCertifiate after purchase rather than $ off. My 2 cents.
One of the down side of internet(?) is the news spread fast and companies withdraw offers because it become TOO SUCCESSFUL.
