Earthlink ISP Bonuses

Last year I switched ISP from MCI to Earthlink because I was tired of being switched everytime MCI completed a merger. Since I rely on my e-address in my e-commerce business, this was getting to be a big hassle. So, I saw a promo for 2,000 miles from HP and am trying to top it off for an award (don't live in AZ anymore)so I signed up online using the instructions on the promo flyer.

Well, never have received miles so I called HP and then Sprint. Sprint has no record of my signing up for the HP bonus, so I have been sitting here for months and months with no link to miles for my ISP account. When I asked how we could rectify the situation, I was told that I could register now, but not receive retro, even though I had the bills to prove it. He even went further to tell me that there was a 5,000 promo with NW.

I don't find any of this acceptable. Any help or suggestions?

Welcome to the "wonderful world of promises, miles, points, upgrades......lies and (unfilled) promises". Actually, IMHO, not too much different from the world in general (FT posters are exempted and/or excluded, of course). I would make one call or fax for the miles, otherwise FORGETABOUTIT. Not worth the potential ulcers, high BP or other stresses for a mile, point etc.

And do go to http://www.worldspy.com and get good 56k FREE AD-FREE internet service over much/most of the USA. As for a permanent e-mail address, go to http://www.amexmail.com and sign up for a lifetime freebie address(es). This way you can switch ISP's forever and still retain a good permanent e-mail address. My current philosophy is mostly "switch not fight" re points, miles etc.
