Any tips on how to tell the Lacsa reps how to enter your Latin Pass number. I've talked to several of them, and they all say it can't be entered into their system. None of the other airlines had a problem. Thanks!

We didn't have any trouble getting Lacsa to key in the LatinPass No. It ended up printed our boarding passes. When the Avis clerk seemed confused about keying in the No., she tried "LP" as the airline code; this seemed to work.

I'm looking at a single booking that is Lacsa on the first leg, changes planes to Aviateca. Would this count as Lacsa??? Or is this a codeshare??

Thanks for the reply BJJ. As far as your question goes here is my two pesos worth>

I would say that if the flight is Lacsa on the first leg and then it changes to Aviateca for the second, then the second must be a codeshare Aviateca (unless they do really fast paint jobs http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif So the second leg would also be a Lacsa. BUT check it out with LP. They are clear on no codeshare mileage accrual. They really want you to try the range of partners. |
I've (finally!) come up with an up to date itinerary for the MILLION miles which encompasses the NICA and SAETA current situation. Perhaps some other experienced FTers could let me know if they see any problems with it.
From my point of view, although the trip could be done in one complete day less, I have built in a bit of slack and tried to go for longer connection times so that if and when delays occur, there is still a bit of leeway. Also, unlike many schedules listed, mine starts and finishes in the UK (or the US if you take it from Miami) and does not involve the need to use Frequent Flyer miles or Open Jaw tickets. Day 1 <LHR - AMS - MIA klm / mp> MIA - PTY CM301 1640/1835 PTY - GYE CM211 1935/2125 GYE - LIM VH924 2230/0015 (Total £218) Day 2 LIM - CUZ - LIM TA007/TA009 0600 - 0850 (Total £134.50) Day 3 LIM - UIO VX520 0600/0810 (COUNTS AS SAETA FLIGHT) UIO - BOG VX520 0855/1015 (COUNTS AS ACES - SEPERATE FLIGHT COUPON) BOG - PTY AV060 1640/1800 (Total £378.60) Day 4 PTY - SJO TA522 0610/0615 SJO - SAL LR622 1106/1225 SAL - GUA GU960 1825/1910 (Total £211) Day 5 GUA - MGA CM 0715/0820 MGA - MIA TA310 0955/1420 (Total £352) (COUNTS AS NICA SECTOR) <MIA - AMS - LHR klm> TOTAL £1294.10 TOTAL INCLUDING EUROPE - USA FLTS £1505 Number of Hotel nights required - 1 in Lima, 1 in Panama and 1 in Guatamala City. 1 overnight transit at Lima Airport. Goint through various messages as well as LP web-site, I find that LP mileages are transferable to HHonours as well as other airlines GENERIC FF programmes. In other words these are transferreable to KLM, US AIR, TWA and other Latin Pass Member airlines FF programmes.
The question is: What is the transfer rate? How does one effect the transfer? Are the bonus miles also transferrable? Once the miles are trasnferred, do you apply to LP or to the transferee airlines for the travel awards? Any input will be much appreciated. |
Miler:
I'm fairly certain that LatinPass points are not transferable to the partner airlines, only to the member airlines. For example, you could transfer the miles into Copa's program, but not into KLM's. |
http://www.latinpass.com recently published a FAQ list which you should refer to for many of these issues. It states that the Latinpass miles can be transferred to Hilton and the Latin American airlines ff programs - Grupo Taca, Copa, Avianca, Aces... but not KLM, TWA, USAir, or National.

Yes, but this begs the question as to whether the miles can be transferred to the Copa's frequent flyer program which happens to be CO One Pass.

If I take a round trip flight from Lima to Cuzco and back on Taca Int'l, can I get credit for BOTH my Taca segment and my Taca-Peru segment???
Also, I'm looking at a plan that gives me 1 hour and 15 minutes to connect in SJO - arriving on Lacsa, leaving on COPA. Will this work? |

Second question: I transferred from COPA to LACSA in SJO on Sunday. Walking time between gates was less than five minutes. I did not have to clear immigration or security. If your flight is on time you should be fine. |
I am considering going for the 500K miles, but had a few questions for those of you that have/are going for the bonus.
What do you plan to do with all of those miles you get on LatinPass? Which airline are you going to transfer them to? Besides using Hilton HHonors, is there any other way to use the LatinPass miles on non-latinpass member airlines? In my case, having miles on the LatinPass member airlines is not very beneficial. Thanks. Phil |
