Freeride seems to be falling apart

I know that people have made posts about slow downs and changes at Freeride recently. The company claims that the problems are related to too many members etc. I have been accumulating points for a little while now and I enjoy the service (I was saving up for a $50 Marriott gift certificate).

After visiting tonight, I am really confused as to what is going on with the site since all of the destination point opportunities are gone. I am not sure if this a permanent change or just a temporary one, but the appeal of this site was in the ability to accumulate points quickly and easily without having to buy anything. If this feature is gone then this site is far second to MyPoints, even with all of their problems.

Does anyone know if these changes are permanent or if these are just bumps in the road to quicker expansion?

Supposedly bumps as they move to another server, larger facility and expanded offerings abikities!

From an Email in response to mine:

Hi

Thanks for writing. Please accept our apologies for our recent access problems
at the FreeRide site. With unprecedented demand and planned new features, we
have moved our servers to another, larger facility and expanded our
infrastructure. In the process, we have had some system difficulties. As a
result, you may have noticed that points earned or spent from Sunday the 20th to
Tuesday the 22nd, temporarily do not show in your wallet. Rest assured that
these transactions will be restored to your wallet within a week. We apologize
for any inconvenience or confusion that this may have caused.

We appreciate your patience and are confident that FreeRide will be back on-line
bigger and better than ever. Thanks for being a FreeRider!

Sincerely,

Webmaster

They have always been quite good over the last year and I've benefitted greatly with MANY Marriott certs. This storm will hopefully soon pass!
