6000 Free MyPoints
I received am e-mail today for a MyPoints study being done in Schaumburg Illinois. (a western suburb of Chicago) They're looking for MyPoints members in the local area to participate in a research study where you'll be able to share your opinions about the MyPoints Program. This study is in the form of a discussion group lasting about two hours & in return for your time you will have your choice of receiving $60 cash or 6000 MyPoints. I signed up right away of course.

My god, I would pay my own way to Chicago to rip MyPoints. Nothing but problems. If you go, please tell then about the following:
1. Account disabled messages (posted elsewhere in FlyerTalk). I thought I was the only one, but clearly that is not the case.
2. Not responding to e-mails. Twice I sent e-mails about the above problem and was told someone would contact me. Never happened.
3. Not all points posting. I have started tracking every click I make related to MyPoints because I am certain not all points have posted. They owe me 600 points right now.
4. Slow, slow, slow. Or down servers. It's hit or miss with this dog of a service.
I'll stop now. Thanks for bringing these things to their attention.

Here's my 10 cents worth of complaints.
1. NOT ENOUGH OPPORTUNITIES FOR FREE POINTS
2. Oracle errors
3. Slow servers
4. Free point opportunities need to be arranged into daily, weekly, monthly, yearly categories
5. MORE BONUSMAIL PLEASE
cheers Peter

MilesNut,
see also the problem discusses in: http://talk.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum1/HTML/001831.html
Since the beginning of the week I haven't been able to accrue any points for weekly visits; instead, I keep getting the "you have already accrued points for this visit" message.
Thank you

I am taking bets that your 6000 points will not be posted correctly and you will have to send at least three e-mails to get them credited to your account. That about says it for my opinion of my points. It is too much hassle to have the points you legitimately earn posted to your account

LOL.......I agree PSU Lion. I'll probably have to write them quite a number of times to get the points but just being able to let then know how we all feel will be worth it. Not to mention I'll hit my 20K for the year now.

Focus groups can be a lot of fun. My wife participates in them regularly with a Seattle company. She gets paid $50-100 for up to 90 minutes of her time. The last group sampled new flavor variations of Bailey's Irish Cream!
My comments to MyPoints:
Bring back the point confirmation windows but make them smaller. I no longer bother with the 10 point freebies at their website because I have no idea if I am earning points or not and it's not worth the bother to check through my history page to find out.

Hi Peter. I noticed that Peter has removed the links from his MyPoints shortcut page.
Its strange that now MyPoints do not have the confirmation window. But if you click twice, the second time there is a pop up window saying that you have already received the points for the offer.
There is now a daily 10 points in the "Visit Web Sites" for Games2Learn.

Hi all
No I haven't been in hiding. I've just been spending a bit more time working on another web page of mine at http://www.tbsa.com.au/~ferrett/directory.html (Telephone Directories of the world).
Yes I have removed my links page because of the terms of the Mypoints agreement.
More importantly and in line with this thread - one issue which I am still a bit vague about is whether non-USA people can convert 20,000 points into 25,000 vacationmiles and then into American miles. I have 11,500 points at the moment so in the near future I'd like to do this but another post suggested that there were problems with Vacationmiles for non-USA people.
I emailed Mypoints about this issue but they never replied.
I'd just like to know whether I can do it or not. Maybe somebody in Canada or elsewhere has converted points to vacationmiles?
cheers Peter
