So I just had my first WN points redemption with Checkpoints post. This is a USA program where you go to the grocery store and scan bar codes of products with their shopping app, usually for horribly processed and often outright horrible products. I think the deal is that the food companies want to expose you to new products and hope you buy a few of them, but I can tell you that the 'Lunchables Walking Taco' box got put back on the shelf the instant the bar code scanner beeped.

British had a similar promo a while back. 5000 miles to test drive a Jaguar.
But...
At the Jag dealer, the sales manager practically begged me to just take the miles and not drive.

I remember that promo from before the Concorde went "poof" (I don't remember whether it was duplicated again later), and I remember that all members of your "family" could do those test drives, and one member in the FT thread about that promo said he signed up his dog (!) and got another 5000 miles from his dog "test driving" the Jaguar (obviously, as you said, just taking the miles and not driving). I think there were people who did an award flight on the Concorde with miles that came largely from Jaguar "test driving"!

Right now, you can get Southwest, American, and, I think, Alaska from Checkpoints.

I won 50,000 Delta Skymiles for being caller number 9 on a radio program back in 99. Around that same time I got 10,000 Skymiles for not test driving a Buick. Managed to cobble together enough miles for 2 tickets to Europe, which for my barely out of college self was quite an achievement!

This year I got 2 Ultimate Rewards points per dollar for the catering for my wedding. That was quite a score, as we all know weddings are not cheap!

Not as unusual as the pudding guy, but I'm a heavy Lyft/Uber user. Lyft's promo with Delta gives 1 skymile for every dollar spent, 2x for airport trips. It's no windfall but it's great way to layer on more miles.

Also, you can double-dip and earn both Delta SkyMiles and JetBlue TrueBlue points at the same time. Check it out - Flyertalk has a forum devoted to ride share services: https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/ride...uber-lyft-747/

I may have mentioned this in another thread. Way back, about 8 years or so, FedEx had a promo that will give you Delta miles whenever you used FedEx for shipping. At the time I was working with a company that used FX a lot. I entered the code in question on my employer profile with FedEx, and I received numerous DL miles from it. My employer had about 11 locations around the US, and the other locations where using the same profile as well. Even after I left, I still got DL miles as well.
