Looking for advice on how to proceed.
My wife and I cancelled our marriott cards in Jan 2016 . She just applied for it again online, (3rd churn) and was asked to call in. When she did they said she wont be entitled to the pts as they would just re-open her old card. She asked to be considered a new applicant and they declined stating if she wanted the pts she will have to pay the AF. I thought 6 months was enough of a wait... it was the first time we churned. Any new developments i'm not aware of? Any advice? should she wait another month and retry? I'm holding off on my app now because of this Thanks |

Chase is a bit tighter with respect to churning cycles - 1 year is more safe of a wait. There have been some reports of people successfully churning within six months, but also a fair few of accounts being reopened like yours.
Thanks |
I don't know where to post this question, but I will post it here since I don't know any other Canadian forum on FlyerTalk.
What is the american equivalent of "Interac e-Transfer"? Is there one? Are instant transfers from one US bank account to another US back account possible? Thanks for your help! |

You could use PayPal as an intermediary, or mobile deposit checks, the former takes a few days while the latter is dependant on your receiving bank's policies

Visit the contest entry website here, and fill out the form at bottom of the page to earn 350 free AAdvantage miles. Then, score another 350 miles for free by sharing your dream vacation on Facebook, Twitter, or by email. It’s as simple as that! but at least that pushed me over 15K miles , not sure what I can do with it being ex-YYZ I'm not alone on just 350 http://pointmetotheplane.boardingare...125.1407465691 The miles are now posting, so log into your account and check to see that you’ve been credited properly. Interestingly enough, my 350 miles posted for completing the form, but my 350 social share miles did not. Luckily, I took a screenshot of the post and will reach out to American to recover those. |

Look back on your social media feed and take a screen-shot of the share to include with your inquiry. |
Canadian here as well, also only got 350. I'll wait another 24h or so to see if the extra 350 post, otherwise I'll e-mail them.

AC Conversion Card
CIBC has come out with a new prepaid card with the ability to store multiple currencies (https://acconversion.cibc.com/cholde...welcome.action). Pretty crappy card for it's intended purpose, IMHO.
However, it seems to have free-free ATM withdrawals at CIBC ATMs. It does allow CC deposits (https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/aR...l-djDw=h900-rw), although it's not clear if there are any fees for deposits, although I would assume not. May be a good option for MS, until they eventually shut it down :) |

2.5% Conversion fee kills the whole reason for this card.
Let's not forget that the Amazon.ca card also nets 1% cash back So you are already in the hole 3.5% Activation fee $5.95 $3000 daily spend limit? Hotel bills and dive tabs can easily exceed $3K. The ATM fee's I'm not sure about but they do seem high. If you want security simply carry multiple credit card types (V, MC ,AMEX). I would guess this is the main reason for the card? |

The product is quite mediocre for it's intended purpose. |

Have you checked with CIBC to see if loading it with a credit card`is treated as a purchase or cash advance?

Did anyone receive the additional 40K Best Western points from the 60K promo that ended in July after spending $2000?
I am being told by a rep at MBNA that such promo never existed I have a URL and screenshot but no way to provide the rep over the phone |

I am being told by a rep at MBNA that such promo never existed I have a URL and screenshot but no way to provide the rep over the phone I should probably call in and ask, shouldn't I........... the first 20k also haven't posted to my BW account yet |

No, but I just tried it, and will report back.
(It codes as a purchase.) |
Just checked my Best Western account. I've gone through my first billing cycle and put about $1k on the card. Glad to report that 20k points have posted to my BW account (+points from purchases).
Will report back when I hopefully get the rest (I'm probably at $2k spending by now). Can't wait as I sort of feel embarassed using this card. |

At least we're not using debit cards! :D |
got the first 20K cleanly, but remaining 40K is missing from the statement where i expected it. gonna wait a month and if still nothing, will call them

Would be kind of stupid if it coded as a cash advance, given the intended purpose of the card.
(It codes as a purchase.) Yep...cash advance. It would be stupid to code it as a purchase.....real stupid. Can you confirm that it codes as a purchase? If so, I'll take advantage of stupidity! :) |
Okay, so this is not a miles offer, it's a cash offer.
But I think this fits the mold of what MilesBuzz! readers seek... Tangerine.ca $100 signup bonus offer http://www.tangerine.ca/switch Tangerine.ca (formerly ING Direct) is offering a $100 bonus if you start a chequing account, and do one payroll deposit. The $100 bonus applies if this is your "first" account with them. *** I'd be happy to learn if anyone has received multiple bonuses from Tangerine for starting multiple accounts. |

The first 20k should post to BW within day. Double check the account number and give them a call. My account number was initially incorrect.
EDIT: Alright, the person was very much aware of the 60k offer. She said those points will post after the next statement, so I'd check the statement when you reach 1k/2k and the statement after, and if they don't post then call in. I also indeed only added my BW number after the first month so those points will now be transferred, as well as Gold status. All is in order. :) |

EDIT...nevermind fount it. Thanks so much! I know the website will price out the 10% discount but I've tried the RBC Avion visa and the chase marriott visa and neither worked. I wonder if the Canadian RBC BA card will actually work for a US origin booking thats stacked with AARP and the 10% |
Is the Aeroplan transfer bonus still happening? I thought it went until Aug 15, but I can't find it on their website.

If I cancel my Best Western Rewards Platinum Plus Mastercard, will I still get to keep my points in my Best Western Rewards account?
