Lower travel taxes. Elimination of the tax on FF miles. Reduction in the taxes on air tickets. Travel tax money be actually spent on travel related infastruture.

Boomer, you are absolutely, positively, one-hundred percent correct! I couldn't agree with you more. No one wants to listen to me, though.

pgupta011, from all indications that I've heard so far, almost everyone seems intent on celebrating the new millenium at the stroke of midnight on December 31, 1999, rather than one year later!

Its certainly anyones prerogative to celebrate about something whenever they want (personally I think that life should be a continous celebration, rather than on artificially delimited points - also many cultures follow different calendars).

It's all a conspiricy to get you to spend big bucks on the millenium twice. Spend it this New years then the travel industry comes out and says "Celebrate the real millenium" next year. Some people will probably just celebrate for an entire year.
