Am I missing something here? 60 Ultimate Rewards pts/dollar?
Hi, i'm just wondering..I haven't seen anything on this. Is there a reason why?
Magazines.com through chase UR mall is offering 30 pts/$
they include gift cards so thats really 60 pts/ per dollar.
if you were to go buy a visa gift card from office depot with ink bold, then thats an additional 5 pts per dollar
bringing it up to 65 pts/dollar
Am I right or is there something wrong with this?
People are posting about Delta 40X at pet foods places, but no ones saying anything about this.

technically, you aren't supposed to get points when using a gift card to pay. You would get the 30x for buying the gift card, but not for using it to buy magazines. There was a bug awhile back that would give you half credit, but it was reported as gone.

You mean buy a gift card with the ink bold for 5pts/$, then use the gift card at magazines.com through the UR portal? Again, you're only supposed to get the 30pts/$ when using your Chase card. Go ahead and try it, but there's a good chance it won't work.

This did not work for me
I even bought the gift cards through my husbands chase ur account and redeemed with my chase account, and also redeemed with a different magazines.com account.
I did not get the double dip.

I get pretty upset with the blogger bashing around her. Miler is in a league of his own with very original content. Thanks to him, I got 3 new pairs for shoes from shoebuy.com for 30X....

well, what I said is that you're only "supposed" to get the points if you use your Chase card. Yes, most people can generally get away with using another card, but it's not a guarantee. Good luck arguing about points with Chase if the charge isn't on your statement. And gift cards are different again; many stores, when you pay with a gift card, show it as a 'discount' on the purchase rather than a payment method. So the UR record would show a 'purchase' of $0, thus no points. Again, depends on the store in question and their specific site coding.

You do receive points when using a Chase card, the standard points you would earn no matter where you shop or through what portal. But it never says portal points are earned by using a Chase card only. If this was the case, then many millions of points would have been given out mistakenly. I couldn't imagine Chase letting a crack like that last very long if only using a Chase card was their intention.
