They are worse than an Indian airline in terms of communication time! :td: |
Tried matching my CX Gold to United....they put me in challenge...gave me 3 months Gold status (no card). However no email was received...just logged in to my UA website and saw the updated status...had to call them to get the details.
Although the match was done pretty quick...4 days after applying. So anyone who has applied and not received email...good idea would be to also check if its updated on the website....!! |
EK statusmatch gone through
Fyi: EK has upgraded me to gold (miles balance was zero) after I provided them with copies of my EB and FB gold cards plus mentioned I had a reservation with them (cheapest eco from CPH to SAH and NBO) which was issued in the meantime.

Was this done solely on the basis or EB Gold or did you need FB as well (Whose program is FB - I couldn't find it in the glossary)?
I've upgraded Club Carlson with my EBG. I've read here that some of the car rental companies will match EBG. Are there any other airlines or companies that match EBG? |

Flying Blue is known to match EB but probably only with limited campaigns. Think there was one targeting EB members in Scandinavia earlier this year. |

EBG -> Club Carlson Gold (good thing, they even renew Gold if you stay EBG) EBG -> Sixt Platinum (also valid as long as you're EBG) EBG -> Flying Blue (only a onetime match during a campain usualy, tried to renew but after 0 flights on any SkyTeam Carrier last year they rejected another match ;)) EBG -> Miles & Smiles (one time match, only intra Alliance Match I have ever seen |
What is EK?

Returning to AA
Any idea if AA still offers a status match for Delta Diamonds? I am looking to return back to AA (I have lifetime Plat status with AA) after a couple of years and assuming there is a status match, I would like to time it so I have 2014 covered so I can comfortably requalify for EP during that year. Any thoughts?

Pardon, but what is EBG, ethihad?

EBG is Eurobonus Gold, the Star Alliance Gold level in Scandinavian Airlines' Eurobonus frequent flyer program.

Status match question
I'm posting on behalf of someone else who is not a ft member,
He is currently a UA 1k. The last couple of years saw him making regular trips between TLV and North America. His regular commute is TLV-BRU. Anyways, now he no longer needs to travel to North America and will almost exclusively be flying TLV-BRU on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. The question is, how should he go about having his status matched? I suggested to him to call Miles&More and inquire with them. What is the 1k equivalent in M&M? I assume HON? His travel is always on Brussels Airlines, so I assume they would be the logical choice. He would stay with UA MileagePlus but they require a minimum amount of flights on UA metal, the idea of a mileage run is not appealing to him. |

If he's doing that amount of traveling, it sounds like M&M would be his best. Or he could try A3 (Aegan) - that has the lowest threshold for *G. Though it's likely he will have to start from scratch. The M&M equivalent of 1K is SEN. But he will not be matched to that. UA's GS is equivalent of LH's HON. |

Your friend is going to have difficulty status-matching within *A.

Otherwise He can re-start with A3 just to get up to the gold level quickly and then start crediting his flights to miles and more. I should add, he has Million Miler status as well, if that changes anything. |
