It'd be great for consumers if the airlines followed suite after what happened with the Hyatt status match last year.

You may be able to create a new account.
You need to change your name (if you current account is John Smith, but your ID shows John Edward Smith ...)
You also need to change you date of birth and address. It will work after all this.
Then you can ask for a new status match

And that is why Alaska Airlines asks for Drivers Licenses now. People faking information and abusing status match programs like that
