I disagree, as I have done many surveys on free time that resulted in miles and points and it's no skin off my back to do them and the miles have always posted. If it were a pain then yeah, but it's not really, so why NOT do them? I mean, I could be spending all my time reading say, golfing magazines... but I don't golf so maybe this is ok?

Ha! Touche, my friend - but, I can tell ya that in 8+ years I've never had an issue with e-r posting mileage/points to any partner program.

then again, for 8 years I had done that costco buy/return thing and then one day it just stopped working on me lol

Nor have I (failed to have e-rewards miles post). What I really like about it is that I can have a "reserve" bank account of miles that I can instantly (well, almost) apply to several airline loyalty programs. This is nice because sometimes all it takes is 2 or 3k more miles to be able to book a reward ticket. I have found that eshopping awards take a while to post up.
