E-miles. Have you ever switched partners in it?
I did a short search in FT and could not really find anything on this so forgive me if it's out there...
I have had my e-miles account put 500 miles into DL for years now and it's been working fine. I did not have a DL CC but now do have the DL Amex.
I now wish to change things to my United instead. I do not currently have a UA CC but will get one later. Anyway, I wish to pour into UA instead of DL and I figured switching may be possible, but I am finding I may be wrong.
One option might be to cancel. I only have 5 miles in my account right now, and 500 are pending to move to my DL from a Jan 4 deposit. So now is a good time to do a switch if I need to, because I have little to lose (if that pending amount is still safe or if I wait.) I asked CS in an email if I can switch, if I should cancel and re join, and what the status of the pending miles would be, or if I wait, how long should I wait?
They did not answer me except to put in some of their rules, already found in the T&Cs. Below is the email exchange I did with them today - mine on bottom, their reply on top. My question to FT is, do people here have another way, a workaround, a method that can be doable. I do have a second property in another state and could show them that (one of their rules is that you need to have moved 50 miles away) but if there are better options I would love to hear them. Thanks:

Subject: membership question
Hello,
My e-miles account feeds into Delta Sky Miles and I have been happy with it but I now wish to change to United Mileage Plus via a special e-miles sweepstakes email invitation I received.
I skimmed through some rules in your system and I read that one way to do this would be to cancel one's membership and basically start over. I only have 5 miles in there right now anyway so it wont hurt to lose just those.
However, I did recently do a deposit that is pending to go over to my Delta account, XXXXXXXX and I would hope to NOT lose those. This is pasted in from my account:
01/04/2012 500 miles PendingPending Delta
Therefore, I am wondering if you have advise on this: Do I cancel/change my account now knowing from you that those points will be ok because they are already en route, or do I wait? If I wait, how long would you estimate before they make it to Delta? The reason I am asking that is because my special email invite for the other program ends on 2/29/12.

The easiest solution is using another email address for each different program. That way you can participate in as many of the programs that you want via emiles.

Believe it or not that is against the rules! I found out the hard way when I emailed a question about my Hilton emiles account. I waited days to hear back from them and got no response. Next thing I know my Award Wallet account could not log into the other accounts.
I say "other accounts" because I too had sponsored accounts from United/Hilton/US Airways/Alaska Airlines. All under different email addresses but all had my same mailing address.
I could no longer log into these accounts! All were closed down. I kept watching for an email from them telling me they "caught" me and closed down my accounts, but never got anything explaining they were being closed!!
I still have my MP and OnePass accounts. For some reason they didn't catch those. I did not email again since I didn't want those closed down. And it was after this that I actually read the T&C that said you could only have ONE sponsor account!!!

I switched mine a few years ago from Frontier to DL/NW (I forget if it was DL proper or NW at first and then auto-switched to DL). I gave an "other" reason, which was that Frontier had just changed its FF program (from requiring only 15K miles for an RT) and I had burned all my miles and had no wish to collect with them anymore. E-miles explained that I would lose any miles in progress (since my last transfer) and I accepted that (I'd only "overshot" by 10 or 15 miles). Then they swtiched me with no further discussion or argument.
However, I don't know whether it's any "safer" to switch airlines until your DL miles have posted than to cancel. It's possible both actions might affect your DL posting, depending on what state it's in. If I were you, I'd want to either first wait for the DL to post, or verify (but how?) that my action won't affect the posting in progress. (That would be much easier with a human voice conversation, but is that even possible with e-miles?)

I have set up a new email one with UA and a zip code that matches our second home. Im going to risk it for now but wont email CS about things !!!
yes I know this is not the more legit route but it is the simplest and workable for my needs now. I got this sweepstakes thing emailed to me from United and you need to set up a UA one. Of course now what will happen is I will win and then they will find out and I will have to forfeit! that will be worse than if I never won. lol./ I could wait for the DL to post and then find a way to cancel or change, but I do not know if it will post in time for me to still join UA with the sweepstakes thing in play. So I guess I shall see what happens.
Funny how they catch ya if you make a blunder, but when they do, where are they?

I just closed my account Delta and reopened with AA and received the bonus points so was half way there to depositing 500 miles

I checked "emiles", "e-miles" and other versions but came up with little. Most references were about how to get a hit or two with the US GS promo.
And, I figured the name, "E-MILES" would make it miles buzz worthy, since that's pretty much what it gives you (except with when they can deposit to hotels like Hilton, and then it's points lol)

And what bonus?
There are several airlines that you get bonuses from with E-Miles when you sign up ie points in your account(e-miles) they are mentioned in other threads here
very confused.

Lol. Syntax was off on how your post was quoted/stated. I guess you mean the miles one gets while within ones emiles account. Yes i know of those, thank you. I thought you were obtaining some other bonus. Maybe a sign up bonus for setting it up, like say 200-500.
For me, my reason for switching to emiles ua was due to an email i got that allowed me to get both a sign up bonus and some ua sweepstakes entry. I had set ky emiles to dl so long ago i have long since forgotten what sign on bonus i may have once gotten.
