The AAdvantage eShopping Mall offers 1 mile per dollar at the Apple Store. If you use an AAdvantage credit card, that'll be 2 miles per dollar.

Which mac model would you like to buy?
1. Go to AppleInsider's pricing listto compare the prices from different vendors.
2. Go to evreward.com to search the best points/miles program in your interest.
3. Go through the best program's website to buy the mac at the selected vendor.

For example, I was looking for a new mac mini recently. The best price that I could find was $769 (with Amazon prime's free 2-day shipping) on Amazon.com. This price beats the best education price on apple store. I went through US Airway's shopping mall to place an order on apple online store with my SPG AMEX credit card (I didn't buy the apple care becuase SPG AMEX would cover one year of warranty in addition to Apple's default one year.). So in total I could get 769 US miles and 769 SPG points.
Purchase on Macconnection and MacMall might be sale-tax-free to some states residents.

bmi DC offers 2 [and a bit] miles for Apple store purchases through their portal. I have only done it on the Apple UK store, so not sure if it would apply for the US one as well.

JR.com in NYC also sells Apple computers and via the AAdvantage eShopping portal they give you 3 miles per dollar (and they have better prices than the Apple store too)

Absolutely best price (when I was looking 2 days ago) was buy.com which is about $50 cheaper but only gives you 2 miles per dollar

My vote would be Amazon through the US Airways portal.

The apple store is 3x points in the AMEX bonus points mall (4x for platinum).

Most/Best miles for apple purchase

What is the best way right now to get the most/best miles for apple purchase? To complicate the matter the purchaser would be a new college student who would be qualify for back to college promo. So it would be nice to achieve both back to school college promo and most/best mile bonus?

I understand the most/best mile question is subject to opinion.

The best deal right now is to purchase a Kindle Special Offer edition and get a 20% off code for Apple laptops from Amazon, and then purchase the laptop from Amazon using your favorite mileage earning card. Keep or resell the Kindle.
