What's the earning rate of Sapphire card? For UA Select (the one that I applied that had 50K sign on bonus) has a favorable earning rate (3/2/1 miles) for purchases made at CO/UA, everyday select spending categories including gas/home improvement/dining/grocery and everything else respectively, in addition to a max of 5k EQM based on purchases made at UA. Depends on the situation this could be significant factor and some may even consider a benefit worth keeping for long term. At this time, no one knows which of the CO/UA mileage program or CC offerings would survive, therefore if it were me I'd place the current UA select card offer to be slightly above others because its earnings merit consideration beyond the initial sign-on bonus. For a club/lounge card, Presidential Plus card (from CO side) is far superior than UA Club card, and I sure hope Presidential Plus card would survive in the end.
