Calculating the bonus limit
The offer says there's a 20,000 mile limit on the bonus. Seems to me that the "bonus" is .625 miles per dollar (i.e. 50% of 1.25 miles per dollar). If my math is correct, one would obtain 20,000 bonus miles after spending $32,000. Am I calculating the limit on the bonus correctly?

I saw this FT thread and decided to call Chase to see if I was eligible. They transferred me to an "account specialist" who reviewed my account and said basically no dice. But... as a consolation, he gave me 5,000 miles.
So.... the moral of the story is it doesn't hurt to ask !
... and as always... YMMV.

The promotional offer states: "Please allow 6 to 8 weeks for bonus rewards to post to your account."
When the miles actually appear in our accounts, several of us will post on FlyerTalk: "Hey, I just got bonus miles in my account and I don't know why!"

Grocery, drug and office supply stores often sell a variety of merchant gift cards, although I agree that an offer without category restrictions would still be much better.
