Miles for Internet / AT&T Wireless Service?
I think this is the right place to post this, so I have a question about getting miles for internet and/or AT&T Wireless. I've tried to follow the forums and search for answers to these questions, but didn't find any.
I'm based in Chicago, and am in the process of getting a new Internet Provider. Does anyone know of providers offering mileage deals for signup or payments? It looks like AT&T or Clear would be my most likely choices. I've heard mixed reviews of both so have no strong preference either way, and no problem considering other providers. I know I can already pickup miles through my choice of payment, but I wondering if there was a way to double-dip on this.
Additionally, I've seen mileage deals offered with Verizon in the past for phone service, so does anyone know if AT&T is currently offering anything for renewing or signing a new contract? Mine is up at the end of the month, and I'm looking to renew, and possibly add a new line.

IMHO, I would not let the miles control my choice.
Instead, for example, I would research best deals from AT&T etc and go with that.
In my experience, AT&T will offer you a very low price for six or 12 months for DSL ($15-20/month) if you talk to sales or retention. And, they will continue the discount after it expires if you call up and talk to retention.
There are several threads on this on fatwallet.com (search for DSL).
Haven't seen any miles offers though.
But, much as I love miles, half off beats miles at full price.

If you do decide to go with AT&T, MyPoints is offering 5000 MyPoints for bundling:
-Unlimited local calling, Internet Pro, and Wireless
or
-Unlimited local calling, Internet Pro and Digital TV.
or
- Internet Direct Pro, Wireless and Digital TV.
or
-Unlimited local calling, Wireless voice service and Digital TV
You can exchange 5,100 MyPoints for 2,500 United Mileage Plus miles.
It also appears that AT&T is offering a $50 Reward Card in addition to the 5,000 MyPoints for the bundles listed above.
If you're not a member of MyPoints, I'd be happy to refer you, and we would both receive a bonus of 750 MyPoints if you sign up for MyPoints through my referral by April 23, 2011. If interested in a referral, please send me a PM.
