Similar thing happened to me. I got nothing for 2 weeks. Sent them a missing credit inquiry. Got $8. Sent them a message saying that I had received incorrect credit with a screenshot of the 2.4% offer. Got the full $48. It took some time but I got everything in the end.

So is bigcrumbs the only way to get cashback on Amex gift card purchases? They certainly seem to have more than an average number of problems.
Also, is there any code that can get me free shipping and no fee on Amex GCs? |
Their customer support (or lack there of) is a little problematic.
Generally all my credits post fine, however, god help you if they miss it. My last credit still hasn't posted, and this is from Jan. What's worse, follow up with general inquiries (not all the time, 1 a month ago, 1 a week ago, and 1 yesterday), and it's fairly evident they are being ignored. Never a reply back. You are pretty much at your mercy if they miss your cashback. I've stopped using them since Jan since I'd like to see them credit me before I dip in again. However, I do note that I am still getting referral cashback (which I assume is one of the two in my referral chain from the Conga line from the SPAM section of this site). So, they 'are' still working. My advice, since they are not all that reliable in crediting cashback, break up large orders into smaller ones if you can to hedge the risk of a missing cashback. You will have no real way of communicating with them unless they want to communicate with you. I also noticed that their forums are closed to new posts, so, you can't even complain there with hopes of generating some attention from support. |
BigCrumbs not posting credit
My last two major purchases from BigCrumbs have not posted on my account. I made purchases from AMEX, along with another online retailer and neither transaction has posted to my account. My eBay purchases continue to post just fine, but these other two transactions are more substantial, and thus more troubling in that they have not posted. I have submitted missing credit requests with no response. Does anyone have a contact phone number fro anyone at BigCrumbs? I would love to speak to someone at their organization. PM me if possible.

I would be vocal on their forum. It seems to be the best way to get their attention. I agree that they should have more support as they really do not sell any type of product and their income is purely based on transactions made through their website. You would think that they would do more to make sure the user experience is positive. Perhaps adding a live chat feature if they do not want to go to the expense of paying for telephone support?

Ya, I'm DONE with them. Screwed me out of $100+ cashback. Having ZERO problems with Mypoints.

Correct me if I'm wrong - but depending on how you plan to purchase your gift cards, AMEX code GEN374 might be a slightly better deal ($5.95 off the order).
So if you purchase just one card ($200), GEN374 deducts the order fee $3.95, and $2 off shipping. However, if you purchase multiple cards (2 x $100 cards), the EMMOTCM code works better as it removes all the order fees ($3.95 x 2). |

If ordering AMEX GCS via AMEX CCs for the intent of converting them into nonAMEX GCs and then into small metallic objects, consider the transparency of what you are doing to The Spanish Inquisition at AMEX. Reevaluate and use AMEX CCs to buy what does not look like an obvious GC that can buy cash equivalents that can be deposited to pay off the AMEX CC. In this manner you blind The Spanish Inquisition, take a load off your back and are immune to the vagrancies of the mint. Look around for the opportunities and keeps the details off the public board as you uncover them.

If you plan on ordering any substantial amount of cards you are better off getting the premium shipping for 99. This way all future orders will have no charge of any kind.

I'm done with them. My ebay credits posted just fine. Then I had to purchase a piece of equipment from Northern Tool for $14,000. Guess what? That one they "lost". It's been 5 months so far. I've supplied everything they wanted, and all I get are apologies and promises to "look into it".
It's not worth the hassle and I truly think that they have no intention of paying me for the credit due. |
Yea their customer service is not good at all. :td: I send in the missing credit info, no word, no credit. If it doesn't show up I will not use them again and let everyone know with every means available not to use them. It won't hurt their business much, but I'll feel better.:D

I have purchased $2K of AMEX GC in past month. The credits have been properly added to my account. This is my only experience with Big Crumbs

Other Options?
Thanks for the words of warning about Big Crumbs customer service. I have heard that some credit cards may be counting their gift cards as cash advances. What other sites have you found useful for buying gift cards, getting rebates and building up those miles?
