Costco Travel?

Does Costco Tavel accept Visa? They have some pretty good package prices.

I reviewed all the offerings and the best deal by far to me was $50 Shell Gas gift cards.
I have enough airline miles & hotel points so why shell out $80 a fill up when I can use C1 for it?

I think so.
Am planning to charge $2300 of a family cruise (SCL-EZE),
bought through COSTCO, to this card.
Pretty sure I used Schwab Visa last time.

either or, I've done both. for most places, if you want to charge a specific day to a card, you need to do it that day.

Or you can just say, charge x to this card (which is what I do when discover runs the 5% cashback for hotels). And then, if the person is nice, have them do that a few times in a row. Say you need the charges smaller because of your reimbursement policy. Smile a sad smile and say sorry. Give them a dollar coin as a tip for their trouble... :-)

Thanks for the tips!

Sorry if this has already been posted, but I haven't really been following this thread and don't want to read through all the posts. I had an AA award redemption a couple months ago, and I charged the $7.50 fee to my Cap1 card. I used the points redemption for that; I used 750 points and got a $7.50 statement credit. Then, randomly, I happened to go back to that same page a week or so later and I noticed the option to do it again, so I did. Lo and behold, another 750 points used and a $7.50 statement credit. Is this a fluke, or is it a known policy?

Your right it's been talked about many times(usually at least 2-3 times a week). It's also been stated the less said the more likely it's going to stick around. CC companies do monitor these sites just like airlines.

And as soon as it's gone I'm sure it will be described as diabolical and a devaluation of hard earned miles. Or is that just the Hyatt board reaction?

No one on FlyerTalk ever over-reacts. Never.

Southwest Refund

So, I am still not clear on this. Someone mentioned earlier that you could get a SW ticket and then refund, but would that be then in the form of a SW credit where I need to take a SW flight to use it? Or would it be a credit to my C1 card? What about if it is were a fully refundable ticket, would it only then go to my C1 card?

If it is to the C1 card, and you already redeemed the travel using your points and are left then with a $1100 credit, wouldn't you get that back in cash then if you closed your account?

Travel packages via Orbitz, etc.

Travel packages via online travel agencies seem to be a good way to stretch our value.

From a chat with Cap1 today:

you: Thank you. Can I redeem my Venture Card Rewards for travel packages? For example, can I redeem miles for a package booked through Orbitz.com or Costcotravel.com?

Pxxxxx: I'd be happy to help you with this. I can understand how this is important to you. Yes, you can as long as you charged it to your Capital One card.

Pxxxxx: You can either call the redemption center and speak with a specialist by calling 800-228-3001 or you can access this information from the web site.

I purchased commuter rail tickets on Capital One. These transactions are listed as "other travel". I thought this would be a good use of points, but when I go to the page to redeem points for previously purchased travel, it says I don't have any travel purchases. Is the "other travel" category somehow excluded from this option?

I did the same thing & then called CS & they redeemed the miles for those tkts! It appears that anything that falls under 'other travel' is not automatically reimbursable on-line!

I put a deposit down on a condo in Hawaii. It was through a Property Management Company. Did not show up under any category related to travel. Just "Quam Properties". I called Cap One..said it was for a condo in Hawaii for my upcoming vacation....credited!

Are they fairly flexible w/ redemptions? I'm going to purchase a travel package at a hotel through livingsocial, and it would be great to redeem points for it. I just don't know how it will be categorized.
