For those of you interested, you can transfer miles between yout business and personal accounts. Here is an excerpt from an online chat with a C1 rep:

I just chatted with a capital one rep online and you are able to transfer miles between personal and business accounts:

you: I was wondering if i will be able to combine miles in my business card account and my personal account when my business miles post.

Khola: I'd be happy to help!

Khola: You can certainly combine rewards as long as both cards have the same type of rewards program. Hereare instructions on how to do so:

Khola: Under the Accounts tab, click the “rewards summary” sub tab and select “explore rewards”. From thereyou will be able to select on My Rewards and then Transfer Rewards in the first column.

I do not see any requirement to purchase an advance purchase rate. The T&C simply state:

"Offers are subject to change. Miles are awarded within 30 days after the travel completion date. Miles are earned when using your Capital One® credit card for qualifying purchases made when linking from this Web site. ...

Perhaps not, but it does clearly state you must use your Capital One credit card, which eliminates use of the $900 certs to get the 15 pts.

Rewards will not be earned on purchases made with third-party partners where the customer is leaving the Capital One Web site."

I don't think using gift certificates would work either, but it is not out of the realm of possibility, so that's why i mentioned it.

The terms say that it is for purchases made through the cap one referral link using you Capital One card. Cool, do that. Yet you physically pay in person at checkout. If you make the purchase using your capital one credit card through the referral link, capital one gets the referral benefits/fee. And then you pay at checkout using your card & gc. It seems possible. Most credit card companies give you the bonus miles based on the actual purchase amount used on the card, one reason being to take back miles for exchanges and returns, or cancellations in the case of hotels. I doubt capital one is different, but maybe it is worth a try for anyone planning to use their new Fairmont Gift Certificates. Nothing to lose by trying.

At the very least Capital One will most likely give you the bonus points based on the excess over the Fairmont gift cards that is charged to your Capital One card. Like if you have a $800 hotel stay and use a $500 gift card, you should at the very least get the extra 15 bonus miles/$ on the $300 actually put on the card.

What day did you order the certs and what day did they arrive? Did they come from Capital One or Hyatt?

Ordered 3/29 & received 4/4 -- they came from Cap1.

Found a Possible Loophole

This may be a possible loophole with Cap1.

I had two airfares for which I rdeemed the Cap1 points. However even after redeeming them once, when I click on explore reward/redeem miles, it again gives me an option to redeem miles for the expenses already redeemed!!! Looks like if you have some travel related eligible expense, you can redeem the miles to get credit applied to your account multiple times!!

This may be good who donot anticipate too much travel during next year :)

Almost sounds too good to be true. Perhaps it takes Cap1 some time before miles are deducted from the account. What the screen maybe showing is not the most updated info?? but let us know anyway.

I think it's just some sort of glitch in their system. The 'miles' are definitely deducted immediately after you request the 'reimbursement' redemption & you have to verify the transaction before it's final.

Posted this earlier but don't remember if anyone responded to it.

I was interested in a Disney vacation package for the family that was all inclusive. Airfare, disney hotel, admission tix to theme parks and even covers some of the meals. But it was all one lump sum total per person. Don't know if they can break it down for reward points or will they accept the whole package total figure for point use. Any ideas? Thanks

You're not suggesting that you could get credits in excess of your accumulated miles, right? Just that their system may not be able to accurately track which expenses you've already submitted for reimbursement?

Correct. You cannot redeem more miles then what you currently have in your account. However, if you have one or more eligible purchases, you can redeem the same purchase multiple times to get an equivalent credit in your account. This is helpful for people like me who do not spend too much on airfare (most of them are free).

So, you were able to successfully redeem the same purchase' more than once?! Very interesting!

I have a question about redeem travel related expensive. If I stayed in Marriott Hotel as a reward stay, and charged my restaurant expenses to the room and pay using my capital one credit card. Will I be able to redeem this expense with capital one points?

I imagine it will come through as a hotel expense, so you should be able to do a redemption reimbursement with 'miles/points' for it!^
