Swindle by BigCrumbs

I am wondering if anyone has been swindle by BigCrumbs.com Maybe i am the first sucker but i am very pissed . They refused to credit my cashback citing i already got paid by another site for the same purchase which is not true. Taken is only a $500 purchase, i sent them my screenshot of the tracking id and invoice. Well, taken that they have a history of shady tatics, I shouldn't be surprised if anyone is in the same predicament

Hello

Thank you for contacting us.

We apologize for the delay and are writing to inform you that GiftCards.com has responded to the inquiry we submitted on your behalf and denied your credit.

The reason stated: "Credited to another publisher."

This means that another cash back website or coupon publisher was credited for your purchase.

We apologize for any inconvenience. Regards,

Deb
BigCrumbs.com
I refute this asking them to provide cashback site and they come back with

Hello

Thank you for contacting us. We apologize for the delayed response.

Unfortunately, per our retailer agreements, retailers are not required to give additional details to BigCrumbs when the commission is paid to another publisher (cash back or coupon site) so we are not privy to their internal information.

Please see our Terms of Service, Section 15: "Limitations & Exceptions."

Again, we apologize for the inconvenience and are also disappointed when a member misses the opportunity to save.

Regards,

Efia

Your post is pretty vague lacking details. I've been paid out for every purchase I've made except for gift cards purchased from Best Western. If you were trying to double dip seems you just got caught?

This does happen. There is not much you can do about it.

You dont need to provide any other information. It is best to ignore the childish remarks.

I was referring to what you purchased, where, when... as well if you attempted to double dip in which they are stating. From what it sounds like they contacted the merchant and the merchant told bigcrumbs that they paid out a referral to another company on your purchase.

sorry for the off the cuff remark. It was a $500 visa giftcards.com on 12/24/2010. I did forward them the track id history of my other cashback websites (extrarebates, mydealsandcoupons) that i used where this particular transaction didnt show up..Still they refuse to provide details so they can wash their hand. But I am glad to found mydealsandcoupon so far..Here is my post on their website. When i spoke with the merchant, the cs dont have a clue. If you have giftcards merchant number i can talk to, please do so.

Well maybe for legal reasons they cannot disclose all the information passed on to them by the merchant or the merchant for legal reasons cannot disclose all the information? I won't pretend to be a legal expert.

I know that you've had trouble with bigcrumbs before, but it seems as if those problems have been worked out. I'm not sure why you would forward on your history of another cash back website you've used. The only thing you might be able to do is to ask bigcrumbs to re-confirm their information with that merchant.

My only possible explanation if you were not trying to double dip using extra rebates is that you may have accidentally initiated the transaction using another rebate site and then tried to use bigcrumbs or vice versa. The only time that I know of that you can use bigcrumbs along with another cash back website was with bing and you had to do things in a specific order in order to gain cash back from both sites.

When using these cashback and incentive sites, clear all your cookies before, and all your cookies after you're done. Make sure your ad blockers are off and your browser is sending referrers if you've disabled that feature.

Although you shouldn't have to do this, and it certainly doesn't absolve others of the need for a well programmed system, it will help by keeping your browser and its stored information perfectly stock.

Why are you blaming BigCrumbs.com? If you were swindled by anyone, it was by Giftcards.com. You need to contact THEM to find out the name of the site that supposedly paid you. Just send them an email with your complaint via https://www.giftcards.com/contact/provide_feedback.html.

to the OP:
Always keep copies of everything you do with any promo or offer such as big crumbs and giftcards.com and all that. Seems as though you have done this, or at least most of it.

Keep your head about you and re collect everything and then resubmit your request.

Yes, do contact giftcards.com because maybe they screwed up.

Yes, do ask deb at bigcrumbs to look at the matter again and say: you need not necessarily tell me what other retailer you think I used, but please look into this and you will see that I did not use another one. And when you write her, be clear, concise and try to bullet your points or stick to only a couple at a time. I think 'deb' is a bot and a yo yo brain but can eventually get it if hand-held.

To astro:
Interesting... why was your FIRST impression that that the OP had been double dipping? It is no matter he/she now thinks YOU are somehow connected with deb at BC? Very strange. Well, going into things, you might wish to NOT always assume that any given poster in this place is committing some sort of crime. Why do you do that?

To thread:
Some here--self included--have had big crumbs problems. They kinda stink at working them out (but no one is as bad as points.com so yah) but they eventually did, it just takes a long while.

OP: this link below may help... it is from a big crumbs forum. In fact the first post is FROM Astro and it has to do with a time not long ago when a bunch of us were missing $$credits from cash back expectations on the purchases of Amex GCs.

If it works, you might be able to go in and find a place or a way to add your own comments for your own issue. Just don't add any account info. Even if you are cool with giving it, they seem to delete those posts and yell at you for it.

Did I say this person committed some sort of crime? Bad job at trying to put words in my mouth.

My first impression that there was a double dip was based upon the response he got from bigcrumbs saying that the merchant had credited the referral to another cash back site. If bigcrumbs or giftcards.com does not respond then the OP is just SOL. I have no idea what type of consumer rights one would have when purchasing through a rebate portal, you really aren't purchasing any product or service from them and they have a pretty detailed TOS to make sure they've covered all their bases.

Like most people have said contact the merchant via email or call and ask for a supervisor. Beyond that you will have to ask yourself if the time spent trying to track down and get the rebate is worth the money. If you see it happen a second time I would use another rebate portal.

yeah I guess not. I mean it's not like you were holding a GUN to anyone's head

I mean, that would be violence against another poster!

Then again, let me remind you of this: The only time I saw any violence against another poster is that scene in the end of Shawshank Redemption when the warden is pissed off that Andy has escaped his cell and he tosses some rocks at the Raquel Welch poster yelling, "What say you there, fuzzy-britches? Feel like talking?" and one of the rocks goes THROUGH the poster so he figures out there's a huge hole in the wall behind it.
