I'm keeping it for at least another year (for myself, not sure what we'll do about my husband's card). My reasons:
- it's my only Chase cc right now
- decent CL
- want the 2 for 1 vouchers (assuming those vouchers can be used to get a free companion ticket for paid tickets as well and not just miles redemption tickets)
Been wondering what people are doing, keeping or closing.

I'd be careful, companion ticket is for miles redemption tickets on BA (non codeshare) flights only.

I was too busy doing other promotions to do the bonus miles offer this past summer and then they didn't "invite" me to do the one this fall/winter. It seems like you need to keep participating in them or they won't bother sending you the next one. I'm bummed about missing this fall/winter one.
Also, if the retention bonus is reasonable, I may keep the card because they just eliminated foreign transaction fees and I'm actually heading to the UK over XMAS/New Years (but not on BA). Lucky made me aware of this on his link: http://boardingarea.com/blogs/onemil...nsaction-fees/
What retention offers have people been getting?
Also, has anyone tried to negotiate a better redemption offer?

It's not that simple. I kept participating (shooting for and made the $30K 241) and they didn't send it to me. It would make sense that they'd target the middle ground (those that use it a bit, but could use more if given incentive), but I'm guessing their formula for whom to target is fairly complex.

just received points
i just received my extra miles (10,000) for sept. apparently the bonus miles post on the statement one month after the one you earned them. i still have another 10k to come plus an extra 5k miles for the spend 2k per month in oct, nov, dec. plan on using ba miles with my free companion ticket for first class tickets to asia next winter. can't wait!!
