Miles accumulation question

Quick question for those 'in the game.'

When booking a flight, is it possible to book 2 or more seats on the same flight under the same name (the subsequent seats will just be used for legroom/storage/privacy/whatever) thus accumulating double/triple/quad the miles?

You can book more than one seat; however, it should only accrue Elite miles one time.

The only additional miles you will receive is from the cost of booking additional tickets with a credit card, assuming you are using a mileage based award card.
