I wanna say that should be "claw back." And I agree on all points.

Withdraw After Six Weeks

I opened a new account but have not yet funded it. After the initial $10K deposit I should receive 7.5K miles. What happens if I withdraw or close the account after I receive this first half of the miles?

Have you read a few pages of this thread, especially the posts just above yours?

They claw back your miles.

My experience with the TD Starwoods offer is that the first half of the bonus was posted 3 days after the deposit was received and the second half exactly 6 months after the first. In the intervening period, I had to withdraw half of my deposit for about a month. Doesn't seem to have been a problem. I suspect that the software they use is checking the account balance before issuing the second half of the points. For those considering opening the account, getting the bonus, and closing, I'd recommend opening, getting the first bonus, removing funds to leave the minimum balance of $2500, and then returning the withdrawn funds at the 5 month mark. I suspect you'd still see the second bonus post.
