How to find most expensive ticket?
This may seem like a strange question, but I need to find the MOST expensive HKG-SFO-HKG coach ticket available (any airline, any date, any fare class etc.). All the search engines on the web look for the LEAST expensive fare. Does anyone have any thoughts?

Although not perfect, if you use expedia, let it know that you want an unrestricted ticket on a direct flight in first class. It'll list the airlines, and I assume most of the prices will be about $7,150 RT

You can use Expedia by checking First Class, Unresricted, No Penalties, Direct, and Search by Schedule. Then pick two flights on DIFFERENT airlines and you will get a number that in your right mind wouldn't pay for an airline ticket.

Actually part of the package from my company is the cash equivalent of a trip home. I obviously want to submit the highest fare I can find!

Try this RL: http://dps1.travelocity.com:80/farer...26043967743783
It allows you to get a complete published fare listing for all airlines between two points, for any day. It may not work, in which case, go to www.travelocity.com and follow the links for a guest to Fare Listing. You can probably experiment a little and find some very high fares.
My quick search (the results are at http://dps1.travelocity.com:80/fared...26043976146798 ) give an IATA fare, typically the highest, of USD$7924, return coach.
Good luck,

The best way is to call the airlines. Either Cathay Pacific or United Airlines and tell them that you want the FULL Y fare for budget comparisons. They all know what it means. Not the Y2 or YOX fare. Just Y.

Thank you all for your help. Ken Hamer, that site was perfect!
Rudi, I considered going the other way around, but I think it is a little TOO transparent a sham. In good faith I have to submit a reasonable flight plan that I might take. It looks like a Singapore Airlines Y class is my best bet.
kyklin, I wouldn't judge the whole package based on this one part of it. Home leave is a standard expat perk. In the grand scheme of things it is not that important.
