Would you do this? UA SFO-LHR MR in business $3000 for 32,000 EQM's and 77,000 RDM's

UA is having the triple EQM promo. You get double EQM's for the fare and the fare bonus (5600 miles each way, double that for the promo, 5600 mile fare bonus in business, double that for the promot). UA is also offering 50,000 bonus miles for USA to LHR before June 30th. So, you get 5600 miles each way, then because I am 1k, I get to double that. That brings the total to 77,000 redeemable miles and 32,000 elite qualifying miles (need 50k to get two more SWU's). Is this something that you would do, or am I crazy to think about this?

Only considering business class, I do not want to consider economy class for such long MR's!

That's not even close to a MR in my opinion at 9.375 CPEQM. Others have listed stuff much cheaper in Y, unless you only fly First/Business/etc. With the double EQM, I've been able to work a few for ~10% of your cost, earning 21,000 EQM.

Business class only. I will not sit in economy for 10 hours. I'd rather shoot myself.

You can get the $2200 JFK-LHR roundtrip in J to be routed JFK-IAD-MIA-ORD-LHR and return (it may require an over night stay I think in MIA).

Similar number of miles for a cheaper price.

Or you could just fly 3 SFO-BOS RTs for only $660, upgrade included.

It might make some sense for someone with no UA status, as the trip would result in 2P status (and good progress to 1P). The trip itself would be taken in J class comfort, and lounge access would be included.

Further, it might make better sense for a flyer who works on weekends, or has some other tye of restrictive work schedule that makes cheaper domestic MRs nearly impossible.

You crazy! Do a SIN run and upgrade with SWU's, that will net you >34000 EQM for less then 1000 USD. Or if you want confirmed F, do a few Q-UP transcon runs for ~630 USD a pop.

Paying for non-upgradeable Z on (old config/domestic) UA is IMO just crazy. You could at least route on new config metal. UA134 out of SFO connect in ORD.

there are so many cheaper ways to get this done and they can be done in business class.
the Triple Miles on the BOS run is prime example or as mentioned by someone else the SIN run

Thanks

Thanks for the good suggestions. Sounds like this will be a no-go. It was a lot of money to drop, besides. I'll look for other MR's. Thanks!

WHAT ? I do not get it .This got nothing to do with MR. $ 3000+ so you can have access to the crummy Red Carpet Clubs with bad UA employee attitudes.

10 cents/mile is not a MR. Call it a vacation or an adventure or whatever... it's not a MR.
