Not so good afterall. My Amadeus system certainly does autoprice this deal without a fuel surcharge - and with an autopricing, the fare is guaranteed (be it to the passenger or the travel agent). No debit-memo fears from my perspective.

Be careful though if you are doing this as a mileage run, rather than because you want to go to HKG. A lot of NZ fares, including the G class that the $747 fare books into, are non mileage earning (at least on bmi DC).

Firstly, thank you Raffles longhaul for all the great posts.

To get miles with Air NZ on the oft mentioned site, you were looking at around $787 ai(T Class). Even then there is no guarantee you can actually book the flight. I pulled up lots of UA flights ex LHR, (-LAS/SEA/PDX/LAX) but got an error every time I actually tried to pay for them with a UK CC.

Which is why I am here hoping that someone can work out a way to get this deal to on UA/BD to work from LHR..........

I've so far booked 5 tickets (myself and four friends), and there's still availability on the flights I'm taking. 10/1-10/11. Deal is definitely still there. IMO, this isn't really an error fare, $580 (which is the price with the fuel surcharge) isn't that out of line from what we've seen in the past for non-peak travel. And, the PL fares that were working out this spring didn't go away very quickly either. For those that can't find them, keep plugging away.

I have not been able to select seats on the United website (other than the ORD-IAD leg), based on comments here it looks like people have had luck calling the automated United line to request a seat. How does this work, do you say your seat request, and it comes back to you telling it is avalaibe/not avaliable?

It justs asks if you want an aisle or window, and then it will automatically assign you a seat. You have no real choice other than aisle or window.

can somebody confirm this fare is gone. The 339$ fare corresponded to the sale ending Jun30, and the dates I was checking around Xmas are not available any more.

I think the fare expired June 30. The base was showing something like $160 - this morning (July 1), KVS is showing only higher fares.

That sucks. It wasn't until a few hours ago I found I could use this deal. Still possible to get there on LAN pretty cheaply (and add an LHR-HKG segment for another $500). Lowest I'm getting on PL is $470a/i.

Amadeus is a GDS system. Most likely, the poster is a travel agent.
