However, expedia.ca was saying that AC92 lands in SCL at 10:25am and LH5301 leaves at 11:55am. After checking the AC schedule though, it reads that AC92 lands in SCL at 12:30. For the extra cost and this inconsistency I didn't add that segment. I hope I am wrong and this doesn't cause problems for Atif-I-C (or anyone else).

The winter schedule shows AC92 landing at 12:30pm. But some time
in the spring, the arrival time changes to 10:25am. I've checked this
on KVS (where the flight duration is still about 10:30) and the AC
website.

Is this around the time when daylight savings goes into effect in the US/Canada, but not down south?

Man... I wish there was a west coast city gateway for this.... and I'd like a stopover with that too please :D.

Was anyone able to book a connection from South America to Mexico City via IAD on United?

MrHalliday Dec 27, 2007 2:01 am

just booked ORD-YVR-YYZ-SCL-EZE-MEX,
AC and LAN, Feb 12-14, $491 ai.

ps- for those looking for a place to decompress in MEX,
I noticed a new Crown Plaza Pointbreaks for 5000 points north of MEX.

MatthewLAX Dec 27, 2007 2:04 am

In my haste, I chose Mexicana over LAN for the 10 hour flight from EZE to MEX. I have been scouring the internet for reviews of the seat/food on Mexicana's flagship 767 flight. Any insight?

This is what I got for next Labor Day weekend for $514.43 all-in:
Chicago (ORD) to Vancouver (YVR) 8/29/08 9:45 am - 12:09 pm Air Canada Operated By: UNITED AIRLINES

Vancouver (YVR) to Toronto (YYZ) 8/29/08 1:30 pm - 9:00 pm Air Canada

Toronto (YYZ) to Santiago (SCL) 8/29/08 11:55 pm - 10:25 am Air Canada

Santiago (SCL) to Buenos Aires (EZE) 8/30/08 11:35 am - 2:35 pm Air Canada

Buenos Aires (EZE) to Sao Paulo (GRU) 8/31/08 12:15 pm - 2:50 pm British Airways

Sao Paulo (GRU) to Mexico City (MEX) 8/31/08 9:55 pm - 5:15 am Aeromexico
The ORD-YVR flight segment is on an UA 320. The YVR-YYZ-SCL-EZE flight segments are on AC 763s, which I hope will all have the installation of the new Executive First lie-flat seat completed by then. The EZE-GRU flight is on a BA 744, with the lie-flat Club World seat. The GRU-MEX flight is on an AM 777, which I believe features the new Premier Class lie-flat seat, and surely must be the pick of the litter for eligible South America to MEX flight segments in terms of seat comfort. ^

I'm going to credit ORD-YVR-YYZ-SCL-EZE to UA, EZE-GRU to AA, and GRU-MEX to NW.

I tried to build-in some extra time at YYZ at the expense of a longer layover at YVR so that I have sufficient time to take a shower before the overnight flight to South America. Others may want to consider doing the same. It looks like you are much better off if you can grab one of the AC widebodies from YVR-YYZ as far as seat comfort goes instead of the Airbus 319/320/321 family, so take a close look at the equipment on offer at www.aircanada.com.

It's definitely there on Sundays. Saw it both over Easter weekend and Labor Day weekend 2008. I would have probably traveled on Easter weekend (better weather in Buenos Aires), but I have a trial starting a week later.

$514.53. I'll edit my post accordingly since that is obviously relevant information.

You just grabbed the last one for those dates...argggg:) I just was building it when the price shot up for those exact dates and flights. Oh well

Cow-Do baby!

I couldn't get any of the ORD-YYZ or ORD-YVR-YYZ originations to SCL-EZE-MEX to book, even though they priced on Expedia. Kept getting this error. Tried several other dates other than Labor Day weekend just to check.

Searched again and got the same $491.53 but with ORD-YYZ on AA. That booked. So I'm going down 8/29, arrive in EZE 8/30 at 2:35p on AC, leave EZE on 8/31 at 10:40am on LAN.

I would have rather gotten the AC-coded UA-metal connector ORD-YYZ, or even better the ORD-YVR-YYZ for the UA EQMs and BIS miles, but I can live with crediting the 500 mile minimum (432 miles) ORD-YYZ to LANPass. Especially with how LANPass does "interesting" math converting AA's minimum miles into their kilometer-based program.

LAN is my primary oneworld program (my tertiary overall program) so I can use more km on them, especially on actual LAN metal to extend my km expirations (only actual LAN flight activity extends km expiration - no partner postings do.)

Now to get to ORD and back from MEX!

edit: Ticketed on AC stock a few minutes later. Expedia showing the AA, AC, and LA PNRs, and those show up on aa.com, aircanada.com, and checkmytrip.com (for LAN) as confirmed. As the ticketing carrier only AC (and Expedia) show the entire itinerary. Looks good to go!

SAT Lawyer - could you please post (or PM) what booking site you're using?

I'm fiddiling around with expedia and can't seem to get it to price out.

Thanks!
