So Colin says that an AC C/J ticket for a United-operated two-class flight will book into a coach seat. I am not sure if LH will operate the same way.

Unless things have changed in 2007 Colin is correct.
In 2005 when AC published Business Class fares EX: CMB to San Dieogo & LAX , UA sectors would be booked in "Y".
My typical Itinerary would be: CMB-SIN-NRT (SQ buy up to First for USD.175.00)NRT-YVR AC YVR-LAX UA or AC, LAX-SAN UA.
If it was UA, my TA would book me in "Y". If it was AC , it would be booked in J.

Sure it's the same flight, but Expedia lists the UA seats as "Coach" and the LH seats as "Business."

If you can get Expedia to give you a US code on the US-HI segs, that will book you into A (UA F).

I did not say UA operated. The issue is UA ticketed. The only issue is the ticketed carrier, not the operating carrier.

LH can (don't know) code on a UA flight and offer Y/C while UA offers Y/F on the same flight, same place.

Check the first two pages of this thread for the fare rules.

No worries. Expedia should change your status from requested to booked and issue etickets after 15 minutes or so. That's what happened with my ticket anyway.

I got Maui to work, and also got LH and LX on some flights. Problem is that the SFO-OGG (UA) and OGG-LAX (AA) book into coach.

bschaff1 Dec 27, 2007 10:04 am

So far I have 3 of these booked and my best routing has been
ORD-SFO-OGG-LAX-YYZ-SCL-GRU-MEX for 20k EQM on Star Alliance and just booked it at 11:00 AM CST for $493.
