Lightbulb Testing a theory.. AA / MR

So I found out when we had to wait behind a chubby lady at the aiport that if you are "too" large etc.. you might have to by a 2nd seat..

This brings to mind many of an advantage, if possible. Can I book/purchase several seats on the same plane, under my name (for whatever reason you guys think is good enough..) and then check into all of them on the flight and get Uber-Miles for for a premium but saving the BIS time?

Thanks for the kind, gentle and loving replies.. But Seriously..

No, you can't. Almoost all carriers specifically prohibit the earning of EQMs on the secondary seat, and most also prohibit the earning of RDMs. There is some indication that CO is going to allow the earning of RDMs for the second seat, but that hasn't been officially announced yet; it was mentioned by CO Insider, so I would say it is a pretty relable source.

UA will give you the RDM's but not EQM's...

I was seriously considering buying a seat for my evil twin on the same 4 flights as me for the AA MR with the 50k bonus, but the main problem would be at the gate reader while trying to have the agent board 1 person on 2 boarding passes. There is just too good of a chance that they would catch on and flag me instead of letting me buy 2 seats on the same flight. This is always a tempting idea, but short of making another AA account for my evil twin and taking the flights there is no good way that I can think of avoiding it.

Get to know your carrier's program a bit better before trying 'tricks'.

Mileage can only be accumulated one time per flight, regardless of the number of seats purchased

Per aa.com at http://www.aa.com/content/AAdvantage...nditions.jhtml
