AA/One World: 2021 Consolidated Mileage/Status/Challenge Runs help needed
.
Requesters and responders, please read this wiki before posting.
.
In order to organize Mileage/Status/Challenge Run threads, the Moderators have decided to create a consolidated thread. This is the thread for American Airlines.

For each request:
  1. do a search on your departure airport(s) to see if there's a MR already posted that might fit your need
  2. if you don't find what you need, post your request using the standardized format shown below in this wiki
  3. it's nice form to acknowledge the responder with a post indicating whether the assistance worked for you or not. This helps everyone learn about successful runs
  4. if several days have gone by and you have not received a reply, bump up your original post with a (gentle) re-ask. It might be your post was missed in the fray
For each response:
  1. quote the original request
  2. include the route cities, price, airline, cabin/class, EQMs/EQDs, and dates for the solution(s) found
  3. whenever possible, include a link to the solution as found on Google Flights, or attach as screen print of the solution if from another source

_________________________________________________

For each request, use this format as shown. A glossary follows to clarify each entry.

Departure Airport(s):
EQMs or EQSs Needed:
EQDs Needed:
Max Budget:
Available Travel Dates:
Max # Travel Nights:
AA only, or Partners Okay:
Have Chinese Visa? (Y/N):

If there is additional information you'd like to share that is pertinent to your request, feel free to add it after this standardized request format.
_________________________________________________

GLOSSARY:
Departure Airport(s): list the airport codes of any airports you can depart from, identifying preferred airports if any
EQMs or EQSs Needed: the number of each/either that you need to reach status. Please be as precise as possible, as some MRs can be within a few of your goal.
EQDs Needed: the number that you need to reach status. Please be as precise as possible, as some MRs can be within a few of your goal.
Max Budget: the maximum amount you're willing to spend to reach status. Less is always preferable, but a max is an important factor. Please make this a realistic number for your goal.
Available Travel Dates: list the range of dates you're available. The more you list, the better your chances of getting a good MR.
Max # Travel Nights: the maximum number of nights you're willing to be away. The nights might be at the destination or at a layover city. If cannot be gone overnight at all, list 0 or "day run only". Again, please make this realistic for your goal.
AA only, or Partners Okay: if you want to only AA-coded flights (e.g. for upgrades, etc), then list "AA only". If you are okay with flying on partners (especially useful for EQD runs), then list "either".
Have Chinese Visa? (Y/N): if you have a Chinese visa that will be valid at the time of the MR, then list "Y". Many good MRs have destinations in China, but you need a visa for those destinations.

I was targeted for the 3 months free platinum with the chance to extend to 1/22 if I spend $1250 EQDs and get 11,500 EQM by 6/8/21. I already have a trip scheduled on 6/8 from AUS-DFW-OGG. It's in PE and cost roughly $1000 RT (although only outbound is within promotion period). I *think* that will give me 6300 EDMs and 500 EQDs. (unsure of calculations)

So, what's left:

Departure Airport: AUS
Miles Needed: 5200 (?)
Required Spend or Budget: $750 EQDs (?)
Available Travel Dates: through Mid May, weekdays only
Required Metal or Codeshares okay: sure

Any advice to whether or not a mileage run is even worth doing is welcome. I rarely travel and when I do it's with the whole brood so sadly I am a very infrequent traveler.
Alaska First Class is very lucrative for AA flyers as it credits at 30% of distance as EQDs, so it's not related to real spend.
Here is a simple AUS-LAX ticket in First Class, it's on a e175 so you can have a single seat.

The cost is $292 and credits at 150% EQMs and 30% EQDs so you would earn 3714 EQMs and 743 EQDs

Another example, a bit more expensive at $411 is AUS-SEA-PDX and back... That would give you 5691 EQMs and 1138 EQDs all in one day and in Domestic First Class. There are sometimes coupons for 10% off Alaska or discounts for buying Alaska Gift cards which can make it even more lucrative.

59K is alot of miles and 11K is hard currency. Are these EQMs that you need? What are your travel patterns, a barber will always say you need a haircut haha 😂 but those are some big requirements.
If it's just EQMs than try PE to Deep South America, if you need EQDs Alaska is your friend..

Technically a combo of D/I fare. $677 and earn 1627 EQDs and 8136 EQMs

Add in a SEA- LAX for $232 which earns 2852 EQMs and 572 EQDs

You can do a few up/ down the West Coast during that weekend

How many EQDs do you need?
Something like this might be up your alley... Same day turn (Friday)
5,158 flown miles * 1.5X as EQMs so 7737 EQMs and .3X as EQDs so 1547 EQDs per trip at a cost of $591 a ride
Google Flights

4 or so of those give you the EQMs for under $2500ish

AA Mileage Run

Anyone done any transcon mileage run in economy? AA have some very cheap flights to LAX and was thinking of doing a same-day round-trip, but not sure if how brutal it will be flying in the plane for 5/6 hours each flight. Any advice to keep yourself busy while on flight?

I did LAX-MIA-SFO in Flagship Business/Domestic First with the first leg being a red-eye. Slept for most of the journey and during the other times, I've entertained myself by watching a live La Liga football ( soccer ) match on the American IFE system.

I feel like taking some sleeping pills on both sets of journey's may be the best way to pass the time.
