In order to organize the end-of-year crush of Mileage/Status/Challenge Run threads, the Moderators have decided to create a consolidated thread for the airlines with the most frequent requests. This is the thread for American Airlines.

American Airlines flyers would obtain 43275 EQMs 5770 EQDs while Executive Platinum would obtain 63470 RDMs, Platinum Pro 51930 RDMs, Platinum 46160 RDMs, Gold 40390 RDMs, Base Members 28850 RDMs

Just received an email from AA that they are extending complimentary Platinum status for 3 months. To get to Platinum Pro until 2022, I need:

Departure Airport: Pit (preferred). Can do BWI, DCA or IAD if needed.
Miles Needed: 16500 EQM
Required Spend or Budget: 1950 EQD
Available Travel Dates: Now through March 27 and mid April through June 8.
Required Metal or Codeshares okay: yes

My last mileage run was to South Africa in 2019. I'm out of practice. I saw the one above for Johannesburg, but I don't know that is a good destination at the moment.Thank you!

You can fly two in First and then add one in Saver/Basic Economy to LAX at $189.

The grand total is 18402 EQMs and 2758 EQDs plus a few spare EQDs from the Basic Economy fare.

You can probably schedule this a back to back to back so you only need to position once to the DC Area...

I am assuming this Mileage credit is only valid after April 2021 correct ? Do we have any others ? I am based in Austin.

Any suggestions on good reasonable Business Class deals (< 2200 USD) to India (HYD or BLR or BOM or DEL) in May 1 - May 10 2021 and return in June 2021. Should be able to reposition from ORD,DFW,LAX in US. Searched and couldn't find anything in that range.

AS is a current AA partner, so it's not related to oneworld admission

Thanks very much for update. I have checked AUS-SEA for Mar 27. BTW how to get CPM value displayed under the total miles in Matrix software. Presently mine only shows total miles. Do I need to upgrade something.

ITA Matrix Powertools installed into Chrome, but the CPM calculation doesn't take into consideration bonuses

Qatar Airways has a sale from Seattle-Mumbai for $2408 which you can bring down to $1908 with $500 discount code MPMEMBERS. Book by March 31. Depart May 5 for example, check Google Flights for good return dates

I have never done a mileage run but need help in determining if it makes sense to do one now.

I was targeted for the 3 months free platinum with the chance to extend to 1/22 if I spend $1250 EQDs and get 11,500 EQM by 6/8/21. I already have a trip scheduled on 6/8 from AUS-DFW-OGG. It's in PE and cost roughly $1000 RT (although only outbound is within promotion period). I *think* that will give me 6300 EDMs and 500 EQDs. (unsure of calculations)

So, what's left:

Departure Airport: AUS
Miles Needed: 5200 (?)
Required Spend or Budget: $750 EQDs (?)
Available Travel Dates: through Mid May, weekdays only
Required Metal or Codeshares okay: sure

Any advice to whether or not a mileage run is even worth doing is welcome. I rarely travel and when I do it's with the whole brood so sadly I am a very infrequent traveler.

If you’re an infrequent traveler and/or your infrequent travel is domestic and not international then I’m not even sure it’s worth trying for. IMO
