I see this ticket can be routed via MXP.
Does that mean I can take advantage of the Italian regulation of not flying in the order of the flight segments.?

Great fare. Tempted to book but given the current situation in Brazil, chapter 11 etc. I'll have to pass.

How are Latam for refunds?

Books into D class and W premium economy on the short hop to Rio. 125% and 110 % respectively for BA executive club. 150% for Delta and 200% and 110% for Alaska.

Booked through Latam directly and received ticket confirmation immediately. Ticked is issued indeed by Latam Italy

Pulled the trigger twice (once LH feeders, once BA feeders). Open jaws are also possible to at least 4 destinations witin Brazil. Got ticketed within 10 minutes through Expedia

It should be fully refundable also in case of no show, but there is a 250 EUR change fee (waived for tickets issued before 30SEP). Also it seems that stopovers don't trigger a HIP, they just add taxes and 100 USD stopover fee (no fee for GRU stopover). Also available to most cities in Brazil as long as it is below the routing is below the MPM.

But well, too many uncertainties: if I book for the next couple of months, it is unlikely to happen due to restrictions to enter Hungary to start the ticket. If I book for next year and I want to cancel, I might spend a lot of energy for the refund.
