Thanks for the update my last AS flight was Feb, Maybe VX had enough clout to get it started up? I do have to admit I liked it better when it was not precheck only because I almost always go through when the rand-o-meter on the WTMD is jacked up on not so random and i get forced to the scanner. That wasn't a feature of the regular/expedited procedure areas.

so, this is basically a situation similar to recent AZ circumstance, ie you can fly from PDX to LAX and such via several remote connections.

I just spent 30 min diddling with VS destinations as connections - no luck.

Its a sweet deal for West coast based AS flyers.

Similar but not in J and halfway around the world. Well not all of us are west coast based ;) If one can handle a heavy itin, its worth positioning.

Also, anyone having issues with 24hr cancels? The spotty website/app wants me to call, but I'll wait for others to book first.

Anyway to get this price but from lax t sfo, wouldn't need that layover in sfo.
Or is it available 1 day earlier so I'm in Portland on Tuesday? Rookie when it comes to google flights and I can't get any of these prices to show up when editing itineraries from some of the other peoples links.

I am not quite sure what you are trying to do here. Maybe you can clarify the question a bit?

The fare seems to be available on Tues, Wed, and Saturday. So starting on a Monday would raise the fare a bit. If the lower fare classes are available, it only goes up by about $20 for a one-way trip.

See his post #75. He doesn't want to no show the SFO-PDX flight.

Here you go but is more expensive, Leaves from LAX early morning and arrives in SFO in the evening. Technically its breaking the COC but since you will be so exhausted and you accidentally missed your SFO-PDX flight you go home ;).

I just managed to snag a mid-January PDX-SFO-JFK-LAX-JFK-LAS-SFO-PDX for $190. Will be quite something for two and half days but I'll have access to airport lounges to eat/nap/shower.

Plus I put it on my Citi Prestige so I should get the travel reimbursement too. :D

Interesting fare. I booked over a weekend in Feb. for $166:
PDX-SFO-JFK-LAS-LAX-JFK-SFO-PDX

A good start to MVP Gold. What's the best way to get access to airport lounges if you don't have status on other airlines? I could use showers/food/drinks in between flights.

PB86 Dec 28, 2016 2:51 pm

Easiest way to get Lounge access is to get Priority Pass, which is included with one of the premium CC's.

All right, jumped on this insane train. Booked LAX-NYC-SFO-PDX-SFO-BOS-LAX for $136. https://goo.gl/flights/NwEz

Am only MVPG but hopefully I'll get 75k in 2017 starting on this foot.

Any way to avoid taking the absolute first flight in the morning back from BOS/NYC?

No, max connection time is 4 hours for every airport except PDX and LAX.

rustykettel Dec 28, 2016 6:55 pm

Went back for another helping to lock up MVP for next year. :D PDX-SFO-FLL-LAX-IAD-SFO-PDX 10/10-11 for a change of airports for a few miles less. Couldn't book this one with directly using Priceline's multicity, but could through bookwithmatrix and then Priceline.

I booked PDX-SFO-JFK-LAX-IAD-SFO-PDX initially, but noticed when I went to select seats that PDX-JFK is a direct flight under VX1022 so canceled that one and did FLL instead.

VX offers free same day standby on earlier or later flights.
