[FARE GONE]VX/AS PDX - SFO/LAX - IAD,BOS,JFK $128 RT 2cpm
Get the new year started off right with a quick run from PDX.
PDX-SFO-BOS-LAX-PDX quick turn for 128 RT https://goo.gl/flights/BvNn Or PDX-SFO-LAX-JFK-SFO-PDX for 132 RT. https://goo.gl/flights/yQmn Also seen a few weekend routes available if you play with the dates. These seem to booking at the one way price instead of RT price. You can book using priceline. I booked mine using Google Flights direct booking. Credit to AS for about 6700 miles. Oops its VX / AS not VA. My bad!!!!! |
I have done some more digging and here is what i have found. This fare seems to actually be PDX-LAX connecting thru any airport which in this case is IAD,ORD,JFK,BOS.
Therefore for anyone willing to do back to back trans cons here is an even better deal. PDX-SFO-JFK-LAX-JFK-SFO-PDX which is 11,222 AS miles for only $142. Which is only 1.27cpm if all my calculations are correct. https://goo.gl/flights/AP7N |
Great find
|
Amazing. Pity that FLL doesn't work.
|
I'm attempting to recreate this on Priceline but it's now coming up in the $300 price range, am I missing something?

Really great find ^ Thanks.

Just booked one. Thanks, OP! This is a heck of an awesome MR - ~12000 RDM for $132 for AS MVP Golds!

Actually, if a person chooses to credit the miles to Virgin America's Elevate program, then they fly 11,222 miles, and earn 11,222 ELevate miles which can then be transferred into Alaska's Mileage Plan for 14,589 miles (ration of 1 Elevate to 1.3 Mileage Plan miles)!
A double treat! |

I haven't had the chance to really read details of the merger, but would VX mileage still credit based on its own program? In which case, if you credit it to VX, you'd be getting 5x the price of the ticket, and not the mileage flown per AS?

Was getting ahead of the merger details! |

That worked for me...I booked PDX-SFO-BOS-LAX-JFK-SFO-PDX over a weekend....hopefully my body will survive this, but this deal was too amazing to pass up.
Also, you only need 20k on AS and/or VX for MVP status-- this'll knock off half of that. |
everything seems to be midweek :( Plus i need to position to PDX.
I'm already booked to MVP by 1/21 would be nice to knock out more Oh what the heck. I grabbed this one, still 24 hour cancel right? Is the wifi OK on VX?. PS> thak you very much knnryerye

Just bought 4 haha!

I want to do IAD-LAX |
Oh well I booked a second one for Mid April

I'm going to call this one, the Centurion Lounge MR run. I've only ever been to the DFW Centurion Lounge.

https://www.google.com/flights/?f=0&...6;a=AS,VX;eo=e So far it seems that way. I guess i didn't even try that. may mix better with a LAX-BOS flight to get me home vs burning a 25K award on AS to PDX |
The VX site is acting flaky. Just realized i booked one to depart the same day i get off my award returning from Japan DO. It gives an error when attempting to cancel. Technically i can change my award to arrive in PDX instead but its locked in a schedule change. I cant call on VX or the AS award either at the point. I guess i can always skip my last 2 AS award legs and buy a separate ticket DFW-PDX.So wish these were bookable on the AS site so i can take advantage of MVPG change fee waivers.

So for me to look for this IAD-LAX (don't care where I have to connect) do I have to do multi city on google air? or can I just do IAD-LAX and it will provide me with multi city fares that would qualify for this fare (assuming that it is a valid fare departing IAD)
Heres a single RT for $71 LAX-IAD-SFO-PDX. Just to make sure you realize this does not allow you to stay in DCin case that is the issue. its purely a connection on the east coast https://www.google.com/flights/?f=0&...6;a=AS,VX;eo=e |
i wonder if there is any options out of nyc, been playing around and wasn't able to price anything lower than ~500

Booked the PDX-SFO-JFK-LAX-JFK-SFO-PDX run (albeit at the extremely inflated price of $240) for the weekend of Feb 10 if anyone else is planning to endure that. Thanks, OP!

Booked the same, but didn't see a sub-240 for a weekend.. care to share your dates?
Also, you only need 20k on AS and/or VX for MVP status-- this'll knock off half of that. If you are having trouble finding a weekend, you may want to look further out....I found a weekend that works for me in October....$162 booked on Priceline...leave on a Friday night and home by Sunday...amazing price! I could have done JFK twice in a row, but I threw BOS in there for a change of scenery and a few more EQMs. My hope is that by the time October rolls around, AS elites will have a least a few more benefits on VX, like preferred seating and upgrades to Main Cabin Select (*fingers crossed*). As with almost all my mileage runs, my awesome mileage running wife is going with me so we'll both earn enough EQMs for over half the of the 20K required for MVP requalification. Booking just 4 of these would get you MVPG :) I had trouble using the VX website to get seat assignments....it would sorta lock-up on me so I downloaded the ap and that worked fine. Most of the seats behind the exit rows were all available for selection (no charge). |

Once I had my "ticket" I was able to use VX website to add my AS FF#. Bad news - VX charges extra for most seats - thought I slipped down to Allegiant! Finally found seat 11E - no charge for a middle seat crammed in no where land! I attempted to select seat 11E - first 3 flights worked - then the page froze - had to "cancel" to escape the VX maze!! Tried numerous times - never was successful. Finally had a "chat" with VX - "David" reassured me that even though AS bought VX - VX still thinks AS flyers are unentitled (MVPG maybe Gold - but to VX we are tarnished!!) ! VX website is one of the worst - reminds me of my "daze" in the "Frontier" world !! |

Seeing an east coast connection via FLL on certain days, for those who want to make a brief stop at a Florida airport.

Booked 3/1-3/2 PDX-SFO-LAX-JFK-SFO-PDX via Google (I love that that's a thing now) for $131.60! This is fantastic, and dramatically cheaper than any day trip MRs I was considering.

I managed to select seats on the app. Now I need to change the FF to AS MP.
|
Looks like you can do slightly better:
https://goo.gl/flights/dZ8y PDX-SFO-FLL-JFK-LAX, LAX-JFK-SFO-PDX. $146/12,228 miles = 1.19 cpm :) Don't think you can do this one all in one go, as fare is only valid TUE/WED/SAT and there's not enough time to fly PDX-SFO-FLL-JFK-LAX on Tuesday and still depart LAX-JFK-SFO-PDX on Wednesday. |
Booked a PDX-SFO-BOS-LAX-JFK-LAS-SFO-PDX. Still toying to see if I can get some of the more fun routings like JFK-PSP or LGA/DCA-DAL, but seems like its limited to those four East Coast airports.
|
Btw, does anyone know how to check the fare class on VX?

Thanks! I just switched to this itinerary as well. 11k EQM, 22k RDM. I don't think I can make myself do two of these though.
Now, do I fly Frontier to PDX to save my cpm or AS to save my sanity...? |
They better not pull an Alitalia.
|
I really should book one of these but positioning to PDX is annoying. I could do it from SFO then no show the last SF-PDX segment.
