I have one of these next week. Went online to check on the seats and to my surprise two of the transcon segments disappeared.... so I had to call again (maybe for the fourth time over the months since I bought it). This one did not have a schedule change reservation to warm me like in the previous instances.... nothing.. if I had not seen it I would have been out of luck. Of course there are no free seats left to select on the two segments she had to reinstate since it is for next week and I'm not paying $40 each way to select one of the seats remaining. .... and since MVPGold75 essentially have no benefits on VX ... I'm screwed.

So watch those itins... all of my previous segment disappearances came with a schedule change email but this one... no warning no nothing.

Just Got my Next Itin "Restored" and was placed in Row 4 on all flights ( Fee's waived) for AS Status. Took about 15-20 minutes total

Did you call Virgin? I'm surprised they gave you any "upgrades" for your AS status.

Looks like the PDX-SFO and SFO-FLL flight times have changed, pretty much precluding the PDX-SFO-FLL construction. Spent an hour on the phone with a very nice CSR but he was ultimately unable to restore my itinerary and I ran out of time before we could explore other routes.

Question: Has anyone gotten VX to book Alaska flights to correct for the loss of transcons?

Yes. It was via the Virgin call center. Probably the most remarkable dealings I've had with them so far.

Strange, just got an email from Priceline about another schedule change and Virgin has now restored my flights to my original itinerary! (I had booked PDX-SFO-BOS-LAX-JFK-SFO-PDX that now shows up on their website as a r/t from PDX-LAX, but that had been changed to a multi-city PDX-LAX (via SFO)-SFO-PDX.)

This was only for my earliest trip beginning in mid-Sept. I have two others in October that are still messed up, showing on Priceline as PDX-BOS, SFO-LAX, LAX-PDX (via SFO) but on the VX site as above.

Like some others around here, I was just going to wait a bit longer to call and have them change things back. It's funny to see them do it for me. Maybe they got enough calls from people here and realized the error of their ways?

Fingers crossed that they'll fix Oct's trips for me within the next month!

Well after fixing them they are all messed up again for October so i'm just going to wait until September to fix them again. I swear like United every weekend they are going to have schedule changes. This time for a 3 minute schedule change.

I have some time this morning so I'm calling now for one of my trips in October....been on the phone around 10 minutes or so and they had to send the issue to the "escalation team" so I'm on hold

In spite of all the schedule change hassles I really wish I had booked 3 of these in the Fall. It was a great run this winter with a group!

They are getting my itinerary re-instated, but I found out that the morning flight from SFO-FLL leaves too early to make the connection from PDX-SFO so they are allowing me to fly to SFO the night before which involves a hotel, but I guess I'm ok with that since I want the EQMs for SFO-FLL-LAX.

Yea that's one of mine. I was going to request the same to leave for SFO a day earlier, otherwise i was going to ask to get of the morning AS flight to LAX and fly LAX to FLL instead of SFO-FLL. I need a hotel anyways. I may call on that one sooner than later as that should help hedge against the next schedule change.

I'm in the same boat as you PDXPremier with the PDX-SFO-FLL change. I think I'll ask for the previous day as well since I was probably going to grab a hotel in PDX the night before. Kind of on the fence but was leaning against having a seperate ticket QX flight arriving before this MR kicks off. Just asking for something to happen and get the whole kaboodle canceled as a no show.

This is getting frustrating. I have 3 itineraries left in the fall and I keep getting notices with the transcons deleted completely from the itineraries. Having to spend an hour on the phone to get them reinstated each time. I'm close to just giving up on this and collecting a refund from them instead. At least twice, the itineraries changed without any email communication.

They are always helpful in getting them back to original routings, but I shouldn't have to call every month just to make that happen. I don't quite understand why this is happening when there are no schedule conflicts. If I bought and paid for a specific routing, it shouldn't be scrapped altogether because they believe they found something more "efficient" without at least consulting the customer. I've just been telling them I have business meetings set up at the airports (JFK and FLL) and need those as part of the itinerary.

New development: CSR telling me she can only approve up to 4 segments on a single one way trip. Wanted me to buy a second ticket for the rest. Sounds like she's under the impression that I'm "adding" to my flight when I'm just trying to get the original itin. I explained it's the original itinerary. She put me on hold and then claims I booked through a third party and they need to fix it. I stated the email confirmation I have is from VX email, header, itinerary, etc.. And now I have to forward the itinerary to a separate team to "resolve" the issue and then I get to call back later.

No wonder this airline was bought out. What a terrible way to conduct business.
