For each request, please include the following information:

Departure Airport:
Miles Needed:
Required Spend or Maximum Budget (choose one, and state the value):
Available Travel Dates:
Required Metal or Codeshares Okay:

Route(s) You've Already Searched:
Do you have a Chinese Visa (Yes/No)?

For each response. Please quote the original request. DO NOT START A NEW THREAD.
There are many good fares to China (PEK or PVG). If you have a Chinese visa, these options will be provided.

If your requested PQM is in a few thousand, please give a more accurate amount. You will get fewer options with a roundup number (eg, 5000 instead of 4830; IAD-SFO nonstop will work for the latter.)

Assuming $900 is budget, not minimum PQD required?

UA:$534 SFO-EWR nonstop roundtrip is 5130PQM, so unfortunately a little short.

Here's an idea:

UA:$549 SFO-IAD 5439PQM (w/ 500mi min)
Fri 29 Dec SFO-PHL-IAD-SFO
(2h49m in PHL, 1h04m in IAD)
https://goo.gl/flights/7Cwm

You can also do $536 SFO-ORD-IND-IAD-SFO on the same date, but not worth it for saving a measly $13. Will update if I find something better.

Update: Not finding anything better. Too bad today isn't an option:

UA:$480 SFO-OGG 5323PQM (w/ 500mi min)
Fri 15 Dec SFO-OGG-LAX-SFO
(1h01m in OGG)

Only slightly under budget, will update this post if I find something better.

UA Mileage Run from ORD

I just found out that a business trip I had scheduled was canceled which will leave me 2,000 actual flight miles short to keep UA status this year.

I need a cheap quick one day there and back to any city that will earn me 2,000 actual flight miles so I can keep my status. The dates that I have free are:
12/18, 12/20 or 12/22
The airport origin and return would be ORD.

Thanks in advance.

Here's the cheapest I can find:
UA: $309 ORD-MIA
Mon 18 Dec ORD-MIA-ORD
(55m turn in MIA)
https://goo.gl/flights/KkN3

Can also travel to SJD the same day, for the same price: https://goo.gl/flights/e9LC

UPDATE: If you want to save $3, you could do both of the following itineraries, but I would think it's worth it.

UA: ORD-BOS 1734PQM
Mon 18 Dec: ORD-BOS-ORD
(1h21m turn in BOS)
https://goo.gl/flights/SbuB

AND

UA: ORD-BOS 1734PQM
Mon 18 Dec: ORD-BOS-ORD
(56m turn in BOS)
https://goo.gl/flights/13TS

I took the liberty of reformatting your request to standard format.

Found one that's another $13 cheaper:

UA:$293 ORD-FLL 2364PQM
Wed 20 Dec ORD-FLL-ORD
(1h12m in FLL)
https://goo.gl/flights/MEyh
Also works Mon 18

I need to earn 5 PQS or 4,950 PQMs to retain status. It seems like making the segments might be cheaper than making the miles. What do you think? I'd greatly appreciate any advice or suggestions on the lowest-cost itinerary. Thanks very much!

Bob
ZFV-SFO will work.

I'm 8,000 short of 1K.
Departure: BOS or nearby
Miles needed: 8,000
Available travel : Dec 17-23; Dec 29-31

I'd like to keep the cost as reasonable as possible. Any suggestions?

Most likely, you need two trips: One of them is to New Orleans on Dec. 19 for $194 (get out of the basic economy, N booking class).
https://www.google.com/flights/#sear...=STAR_ALLIANCE
The second trip will be more expensive. If you want to take a risk of cancellation of duplicated reservation by United, here is an option for the same price, but you will need to use the same-day-change to change the return segments to Dec. 18. Good luck.
https://www.google.com/flights/#sear..._ALLIANCE;eo=e

Here is a single itinerary for $582 and 8060 PQM, with overnight at YVR. You will have to book on United site with multiple destination search. The google flight link does not seem to work. Good luck.

You picked pretty much the worst three days of the year...can't imagine anything around $500.

For a single trip, the cheapest econ option I find is:

UA:$1124 EWR-ANC 8000PQM+
Fri 22 Dec EWR-CLE-DEN-ANC-DEN-IAD-EWR
(1h37m in ANC)
https://goo.gl/flights/Fajv

For this kind of money, I think I would rather fork out an extra $100 and do this:
UA:$1208 EWR-SLC in First 7928PQM
Fri 22 Dec LGA-ORD-SLC-ORD-LGA
(0h55m in SLC)
https://goo.gl/flights/iXJr

Another idea...can you travel on another date if purely overnight?
UA:$991 EWR-LAS nostop in First 8908PQM
Mon 18 Dec EWR-LAS-EWR **lay-flat**
(1h04m in LAS)
https://goo.gl/flights/cKbH
EWR departure 8:05pm, returns 7:33am the next morning.

BTW, any reason for the hard "Metal=United Airlines" requirement? Doesn't really matter for this request, just curious.

Will update if I see any econ options closer to your target $500.

Thank you very much. This was very helpful, went with the EWR-LAS in first. figured I can sleep on the flight and catch up on some emails I was being optimistic with the $500 but $990 in first is not bad at all !
As far as the metal, doesn't really matter either... I just put something down to have it down. The PQM's were the more important part. Thanks again !

Awesome! Thanks very much. I booked the single itinerary ($560 and 8,063 PQM). I was looking at BOS LAX RT with a P fare but the total was a bit over $1,000.

Maybe this isn't doable at a reasonable cost, but I had end-of-year travel change, so ...

Departure Airport: PDX
Miles Needed: 7,413
Required Spend or Budget: PQD met, ideally as low as possible
Available Travel Dates: 12/22 (late evening only) through 12/25
Required Metal or Codeshares okay: United PQM needed

UA:$678 PDX-SJU 7939PQM, or $974 PDX-IAH in First

Trying to find resonably priced, realistic options is getting difficult Here's a horrible one:

UA:$678 PDX-SJU 7939PQM
Sat 23 Dec PDX-IAD
(51m in IAD)
Sun 24 Dec IAD-SJU-EWR
(3h35m in SJU, 11h50 overnight in EWR)
Mon 25 Dec EWR-PDX
https://goo.gl/flights/yZnF

This requires spending Xmas eve in Newark. Ugh.

If you feel like something more reasonable, this one is still <$1000:

UA:$974 PDX-IAH in First 8306-8516PQM
Mon 25 Dec PDX-SFO-OKC-IAH-PDX
https://goo.gl/flights/vLHJ

Requires travel Xmas day only.
