If your JFK-MXP flight shows as cancelled on the KLM website and the Alitalia website gives an error, don't worry about it. More generally, these very cheap fares will typically not earn full miles. In some ways, AZ may be a good program to earn to as it appears many of the AF and KL flights that would earn 25% into their programs will earn 50% into AZ. It seems that most people departing from JFK are booked in O class which may not have much earning. Some people departing from LAX have V or other classes which do have earning benefits. The most earning will probably occur on an 057 (AF) or 074 (KL) ticketed and operated flight, credited to AS, if and only if the fare class is one of those listed as eligible on the Alaska earning website.

1.1. For 006 ticket with flight operated by AZ probably not. See this post. Please report back your experience. - Alaska: No on AZ segments. No on most AF/KL segments because of the fare code. After it's booked on priceline, can I check on Atalia's website now to see if it was accepted? Where do I type in my flight confirm number for this leg?
I was able to check KLM and see my routes but after I select seats it kicks me out.

Not me, and this is my first time doing something like this. My first leg, JFK-Milan, is on Alitalia 'cause I didn't know about its financial situation.
I did buy the $34.00 flight insurance through Priceline, so if Alitalia does go bankrupt and we're not re-booked on Delta or something, then I would think one of three things would happen:
1. They refund all the tickets
2. We can just cancel the whole trip and get a refund
3. Worst-case scenario, I'm out of $203.00 but I HIGHLY doubt this will happen
Excited (and hopeful) to finally make use of my work from home perk in order to work from Milan, Prague, Paris and Tokyo!

I think it is a very real possibility.
However my first flight is "Alitalia" but operated by Delta, and then KLM metal. Would we still be covered? Who knows. If fuel gets anymore expensive, this little scandal could be the straw that broke the camels back...
