As indicated in the thread title, this deal is now dead.

How do I manage my itinerary/check my booking/select seats?

Note that the displayed receipt will be incorrect ($5 higher than actual) owing to a programming error. The taxes/fees shown includes the original $5 WF booking fee. Do not worry about this; it does not change the amount you are actually billed.
How many miles will I earn on United from my flight?
Here's the UA master page listing airline partners. If you click on a partner logo, you'll see a page containing a chart showing the yield for flights taken on partner metal. (It even says explicitly that it's the metal that counts: "The award miles accrued on codeshare flights are based on the operating carrier and their equivalent fare class.")

MileagePlus (UA) earning charts for
Will I do better if I credit to another *A carrier instead?
Maybe.

Miles&More (LH, LX,...) earning charts for
  • United Airlines (UA) (K, L, T fares earn 50%, 25% for flights in 2014)
  • Lufthansa (LH) (K, L, T fares earn 50% for TATL flights in 2013, 25% for TATL flights in 2014)
  • Swiss (LX) (K, L, T fares earn 50% for TATL flights in 2013, 25% for TATL flights in 2014)
  • Air Canada (AC) (K, L, T fares earn 50% for TATL flights in 2013, 25% for TATL flights in 2014)

Here's the master list of partner earning charts for Aegean (A3) and here's the list for Turkish Airlines (TK).
Are there other FlyerTalk members flying when I am?
Quite possibly! There is a meetup thread on the CommunityBuzz forum. Post if you would like to participate.

Agreed! My buddy and I were on the phone with each other coordinating buying the tickets. Both of us bought the same tix for the same dates at the same time. His ticketed this morning, mine didnt. I also had another one booked at 2pm yesterday, still not ticketed.

So not sure what the pattern is for ticketing these? Last name, single passenger vs multiple, etc.. but as long as people still getting confirmations, thats a good sign. We are probably just in line.

The funny thing is that he is not from FT so just went on once, bought the tix and assumed everything was fine (and it was for him). Meanwhile, we are re-checking the site, re-submitting our cards, etc. Perhaps the saying is right - watch the water and it will never boil. I am going out to get some brunch!

The fare rules will depend on what you bought.
On checkmytrip.com you can see the fare you bought and the letter that corresponds to it (most likely Kxxxxxxx).

Alternatively, go look up the ticket you just bought on ITA - the fare rules are the same as the lowest price ticket without the YQ missing.

This is my understanding, too. If it's a United flight, it always counts for PQDs no matter the ticket stock: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/unite...ification.html

"Eligible flight segments operated by United, United Express and Copa Airlines count toward PQD even if on non-016 tickets."

This happened to me too. I notified Chase of the company name, amount, and country the company was based in. They still denied the charge. Wideroe sent me the text and e-mail at 3:39am, when I was sleeping, so I missed out on the 2 hour window. Chase sent me fraud alert e-mails around 7am. Wow, so helpful.

I still have two separate trips that are not ticketed yet, so fingers crossed! When I called Chase to whine, they said any future charges from Wideroe should now go through.

Why are people still thinking this was a mistake fare? Simple case of YQ missing systemwide - it has happened before (*cough* LAN.com)
Well, that is technically a mistake . The fares aren't the mistake though as you note, the fares were all fine. I'm sure it worked on biz and F fares too, just not much of a deal when those have a much lower percentage of YQ in terms of total ticket price.

I just bought this, except on the way back, I go through Zurich. All Air Canada. Came out to $260 USD. I did have to play around with the dates a lot, though.

Actually, it worked great on biz fares. Some have $960 of YQ attached to them. $3000 UA# on LH metal, J fares were had for $2000

I'd say it is 99.99% likely that these are honored. I still wouldn't book non-refundable plans for a few days, but I expect that any issued tickets will be honored.

Absolutely. There are TATL base fares as low as $10 from time to time. With the advent of YQ the airlines opened themselves up to this sort of scenario.
