It goes on the the higher fare which is $3K oneway.
Look the rules have been set. No sense keep suggesting what about this and that. Figure it out when you try to do the booking. There aren't many carriers and combos you can take on the lower fare anymore. If you want to combine with various fares, then you gotta go up the fare ladder.
