Checking baggage on US with an end-on-end
Ok, so I have booked an end-on-end itinerary:
DFW-CLT-MCO
MCO-CLT-DCA
to save some money on T-giving travel.
My question:
Since I am checking a bag, will I be required to leave the secure area, pick up my bag, and re-check it in Orlando(MCO)?
The issue is: I have a 50 minute layover, there's no way that will work, so if I cannot check it to my final destination, then I'll have to get creative.
Thanks all!

I've booked end-on-end itineraries before and explained what I was doing when I checked in. The agent was usually pretty helpful and would do it for me (probably only an issue if you want to check the bag partway through, which makes it look like you're going to skip the last segment).
However, some fare rules don't allow end-on-end ticketing. It seems like there's a chance that the agent would check the rules before agreeing to your request. If you are doing something you're not supposed to, this is obviously not a good way to avoid detection.
Either way, it may just depend on whether he/she is having a good day.
