how to create a complex itinerary?

Sorry for the stupid question, but is it possible to construct SAN-SFO-PHL-CLT-SJU flight? Unfortunately I can not do it, while SAN-SFO-PHL-SJU appears nicely. What can be the problem and how to resolve it? Thanks

Sometimes getting a travel agent to book it for you helps heaps !

I've done 10 segment domestic itineraries before!

I am not all that knowledgeable about permitting routes (I typically fly straightforward itineraries), but I think different routes and fares have different rules about which cities you can connect through. You have to look at the rules for your particular situation. Feel free, anyone, to correct me if I'm wrong about this.

As Clacko said, the airline may have a significant factor (airline hubs) as well as the routing rules.

Since you're going through PHL and also CLT it appears you may be trying to fly US Airways to SJU.

US Airways has direct flights from both PHL-SJU and CLT-SJU so the chance the routing rules would allow someone leaving PHL to fly to CLT and then to SJU versus just to SJU might be slim.

Do you have the routing rules?

Have you tried doing a multi-leg segment using ITA?
