I'm not so sure about that.

From the Alaska Airlines web site:

To ensure flight credit, the two letter airline code must precede the flight number on your ticket receipt or boarding pass.
For example, KE XXXX.
Your KE boarding pass will have the operating KE flight number on it, right? Seems like they are saying KE-coded, OAL-operated flights are out, but not vice-versa(?)...

Very nice find, OP. I wish I could take advantage...

As for those complaining about "having to" overnight in HNL... are you nuts???

"Business class" rules say "free" (when the difference b/w business and eco is advertised). However, there are service fees for refunds and changes (conditions of carriage). Don't know if these are legitimate.

I wasn't one of the complainers, but when you get in near midnight and depart the next day 10am (IIRC), overnighting in HNL is a PITA. If it was a stopover, that'd be entirely different.

nice fare! If I had more time I'd be all over this, but a positioning flight to ICN is taking too much time and $$$.

UA is just like CO there are only miles credited for intra Hawaii islands flights on HA, hence it only says 500 minimum for Y.

Lack of MQMs anywhere pretty much makes this not worth the time/expense to position from east coast USA -- but it's a great fare for transpac visitors.

Update: I found a number of dates where UA OW awards would work well for the outbound positioning. But it's still hard to justify without the MQM earning.

Of course not. Int'l fares are always one-directional.

Fair enough, I hadn't look at the flight times.

SFO and LAS have afternoon departures -- 1:45 and 2:30, I think, which lets you have a morning on the beach.
