Thanks.

More or less 5,500 miles roundtrip with the via DFW+ORD routing.

Less than $2400 for AA EXP status if you do this enough.

I bought one yesterday, MKE-DFW-SFO-ORD-MKE, but I can't figure out where you find mileage on the aa.com website. This will be my first trip on AA, although LSC has gotten me over 100K miles on AAdvantage.

I was thinking of doing a challenge, but since N class only counts .5 for a challenge, I'm not going to bother unless I decide to book another trip on AA. Since I didn't make even Silver on NW last year, I may well be non-elite on everything come March. Scary.

The mileage shows up for AA flights as you're booking travel, though you may need to request flight information to see it.

When multiple flights are shown (excluding Price and Schedule booking) there is a column between Cabin and Meals titled AA Flight Miles. For Price and Schedule you can see the miles by clocking on Flight Details. The mileage is not shown once you have selected the flight(s).

Another way to get the mileage is to get the AA Timetable (PDF).

For mileage calculations I rely upon this http://webflyer.com/travel/milemarker/ but also keep in mind that some airlines use calculations that are a couple miles off here and there.

The flying fish program works pretty well - variances rarely more than +/- a few miles

any minimum stay requirement? am thinking flying out of SFO and do the same day return, or just spent one night there.

Its pricing out at $53 each way and comes out to $146.00 after tax now for some dates in JAN. I am finding teh $39 each way in FEB with the end of the month looking the best.

I booked some, but it seems that they increase the SFO-DFW-ORD-MKE from 39 to 99 one way in March. Will wait to see whether the fare comes back.
