Haha. Na. It's the PHL-PIT leg... so it'll only cost me 500 EQM.

Still, everything booked doesn't put me above 1K. I'm assuming I'll have ONE more trip back to MCI after Christmas, but as I don't know I can't book it yet. If not, I'll need another 1,600 or so (two $49 Vegas runs?).

Wish me luck!

You'll love all those miles later. I do stuff like this every year and I'm always amazed that people think it's stressful or tiring to do one mileage run, much less a mega-mileage run. What's so stressful or tiring about alot of sitting around in airplane seats?! There's good exercise to be had walking through countless airport concourses and if you've a lounge membership or two, your down time can be comfortably spent far from the maddening crowds.

If you should ever want a bit of reading along the way, here are a few trip reports from some of my mega-mileage runs. Good luck on your trip!

THE GREAT AUTUMN MILEAGE RUN OF 2002

ON THE ROAD AGAIN ~ In Pursuit of Bonus Miles

ON THE ROAD AGAIN - Three Weeks of Mileage Running around America

2A's MILEAGE RUN ~ AN AAMERICAN ODYSSEY

SIX DAYS OF WINING AND DINING ABOVE AMERICA AND CANADA

ON THE ROAD AGAIN ~ 2 weeks, 23 flights and 19790 miles around America and Alaska

A WEEKEND JAUNT WITH NORTHWEST ~ DEN-LEX-DEN

Naw, he says, that's what I have you around for...you'll be retired ,too, and will need something to keep you busy. But, boy oh boy, it will be fun learning. I already have varicose veins, so he's welcome to the seat time.

He is very lucky to have you. :D

Every week, mostly likey. Though a good part of it will be weekly LAX-SJC jaunts (or as far as said ticket price could take me elsewhere). Either way, I'll have an awful lot of vacation time saved up and will eventually start shopping for travel partners...

If I am not mistaken as long as you register for double EQM by 11/24 you will get credit for all flights from the beginning of the promo.

True, but maybe the tickets were already bought and it just make sense to fly them instead of paying the cancellation fee plus $500 for double EQM's.

I've done EWR-LHR twice in 2 days. Same agent checked me in and thought she had deja vu. It wasn't even a mileage run. I had business meetings that required it.

It is my understanding that it does not matter when the tickets were bought, only when you fly, so there would be no need to cancel.

Correct, but if someone just wants to reach 1K, and wont reach an extra 50K to earn two extra SWU's, there is no point in signing up for the double EQM's.

No point in signing up, maybe... but no harm either, right?
Besides what does that have to do with your earlier statement regarding the need to cancel the tickets?
