ExpertFlyer still shows the Fare Basis still available, plus inventory (at least on the route/date/time I'm trying to ticket). Sounds like united.bomb is just being stupid.

at least Travelocity, like United.com, lets you cancel impulsive trips on the same day.

Thanks OP. I'll be taking my first ever trip to MCO (Or anywhere in Florida for that matter) for a weekend. Booked on UA.com for the bonus miles. ^

On hold with United because I had a problem purchasing my ticket on hold. The agent said that the fare has gone up and that he would have to look into it. I still have 3 more on hold and I bet I will have the same problem with all of them.

Oh jeez, I have one on hold too. I hope they don't screw us.

From Expedia: We're sorry, the price of this flight has changed from $155.21 to $494.20 (seats must be going quick there, too).

On another routing OAK-IAD on the nonstops it comes up at $134 when I went to ticketing. Looks like you really need to play with dates on this one.

I can't believe it. Had some tickets on hold, and after purchase the fare showed as three times at much.

A quick call to United.bomb technical support, reverted the fares back to $150.21

It's been 5 years since I've taken a United flight.

Nothing to do with that...

In fact I just got a notice from AA that TPA-ORD is $158 all in and I still won't bite.

I do need 2 more trips to ORD, one in mid-NOV and one in early DEC, but unfortunately that's not included in the sale.

At the end of the year I will have ~130K revenue miles plus ~30K award miles flown. What makes you think that I want to fly "just because"?

so yes, I will pass up any fare matches by AA and won't blink an eye, unless they include the 2 dates I need......

Don't assume....

Expedia allows some of us to do the same thing.
