I've just had a look on ITA at this stage.... as I already have my "F run" for the next trip locked down this one is of learning value rather than practical use..

I shall have another look!

And Thanks Colin!

I dont call them obviously !

Just wondering if once the ticket is issued and the deal is more or less over UA will be able to change your itinerary !?

It is fully refundable so changes should be free as well or am I wrong !?

Yes I have an alternative now, leaving on an overnight flight via PHL and returning right away. One feeder would be in Y then but I guess thats not a deal breaker for me.

The earning at bmi depends pretty much on an example !

For 48K miles you would have to spend 830 USD on their Buymiles programm.

Thats 300$ more than this flight is. So it would probably come to the opinion what your individual time and inconvenience is worth to you.

That's 2 days of daytime travel...unlike flying TATL's/intercontinental flights for miles.

Further note that BD is soon limiting purchasing miles to 24k/year - so this fare would be beneficial to members wishing to fatten their mileage balance after 28 Feb 2009.

Does this fare earn 100% RDM and EQM on BD or 300%? As the fare basis is H, even though the booking class is A. I am not familiar with BD.

A lame newbie question but could you tell me what ITA is? I've googled it an can't seem to find anything about airfares.

Powerful search tool. See www.itasoftware.com

A lot of useful information on this software in the MR and United MP forums. Do a search for ITA or ITAsoftware.

UA Hi-yield fare ONT - TPA

Curious to know what is a good hi-yield fare MR (F, A, P, C, D, Z, Y, B) in terms of CPM. (These would be good for GS re-qualification.)

In the example for ONT-SFO-IAD-TPA and return the total GS qualifying mileage is 7458 at a cost of $547.60 or 7.34 CPM. This seems rather extraordinary. Anyone seen anything better?

Keep in midn that this is a "premium" fare. for 7.34cpm, that is phenomenal. Most good premium fares are well over 10cpm.

That was my thought as well. Think I'll jump on this in August with my triple mile bonus. However, the last place you want to be in August is Ontario.

Earning on BD I have found some F fares that run 5cpm (15cpm at 300%) and with the 600 mile minimum and 25% elite bonus you can get EQM down to close to 4cpm and RDM down to near 3cpm ^

Havind said that it is flying US

But then given a choice would you rather fly several hours in US F or any other airline in Y?
